Car crash and air rescue blocking the motorway...

Hello, I've encountered a car crash with air ambulance that landed across the motorway in Hungary. Any ideas? The helicopter will take off after some time or only saving the game and reloading can help?

I always go past those things and usually without problems. Only few times I had some tricky situation I just couldn't drive past normally. One was in uk and other I had to drive against traffic on one of those roads that has fence in the middle and take some tickets. Should have taken the long route.

UK one was bad since I couldn't even take the long route if even if I wanted since the accident was right after entryway to highway and there were cars blocking the way back. Somehow got through it anyway but had to go off road if I remember right.

Maybe there would have been way to pass those easier but I just didn't find it.

Unfortunately not. I was told the slider for random events would do the trick, but the random events with the helicopter still appear. I have found that when using ferries, these events don't happen for any stretch of the route. That and saving before the event, can change the helicopter random event to something else that could allow for, as someone mentioned, squeezing through.

Random Events and Detours are different things. Random Events happen on the side of the road, such as breakdowns or pullovers. They sometimes close one lane, line construction or an accident, but they can be driven past. Detours are a separate thing, with their own slider. Detours are similar to random events, but they are large enough to close the whole road, making you find another way around instead. You want to turn the Detours slider all the way to the left, not the Random Events.

The situation with the helicopter blocking the road is for a detour not a random road event and there is (thankfully) a separate slider for detours making it possible to lose (or greatly reduce the frequency of) those whilst keeping the random road events which add a little more flavour to the driving.

Edit: note to self, check whether there is another page of responses before posting a reply otherwise you look like a parrot.

If they move "random events" to the left, I'm not too surprised, that "detours" still appear...
