Car crash and air rescue blocking the motorway...

Hello, I've encountered a car crash with air ambulance that landed across the motorway in Hungary. Any ideas? The helicopter will take off after some time or only saving the game and reloading can help?

That is the new Detours feature, the road is "closed" and you have to reroute. The closing is in effect during the job and will then go away.

I've found the feature is rushed. You can squeeze past the block without damage or penalty of any kind (even the helicopter blades won't do damage), and while doing so you sometimes find nothing that would actually warrant closing the road in the first place.

I've tried to pass but there seemed to be some invisible wall blocking the road. Thanks for Your answer anyway!

Oh, it's that one. I think it's a permanent block they put in for whatever reason, you can go around it by just going up the ramp and back through the roundabout.

Noticed you have to use your head with some of these detours. If you just follow the suggest re-route on the sat nav you can end up in a endless loop. God fun

I experienced an accident site that closed the road but I carefully pushed the police car aside and passed the site on the right side (if there is enough space left...). So I didn't need to reroute.

These detours are a bit strange with so long distancces to go.... I think there are not enough roads in game for such a feature...

In my case, I took a reverse and passed by the wrong-way

Good to read, that I'm not the only one with this problem. I have it not in Hungary, I have it on the route from Västeras to Oslo, there is no chance to go through and it seems it is the only route which leads no Norway anyway.

Its possible to turn off this feature in game options if you want.

Now I saw the crash site with helicopter, too. The police had closed the road some distance before, so on that type of accident site you have to reroute. If you want to pass the helicopter then try to pass the heli on the right side, but you will get some damage and you need some force to get trough it. This type of accident site is a nasty thing.

you can use a ferry from Danmark to Norway instead if there is no other way to Oslo

Luckily I found a way via Jonköping to Oslo. I had eight minutes delay on the delivery.

Unfortunately not. I was told the slider for random events would do the trick, but the random events with the helicopter still appear. I have found that when using ferries, these events don't happen for any stretch of the route. That and saving before the event, can change the helicopter random event to something else that could allow for, as someone mentioned, squeezing through.

Then you don't have the slider all the way to the left. You can check manually, in each Profile directory in the config.cfg file, look for the line:

uset g_detours "0"

...and be sure it's set to 0 and not anything else.
