Bremen - Malmo road missing, Rostock ferry game crash
I was about an hour or so outside of Malmo when the road just dissapeared and so did I. But I thought I'd reload an auto save and head towards Rostock to pick up the ferry to Trellborg and still be able to finish the delivery. However, my plan failed to work because when I clicked on embark the game crashed. Just to be sure it wasn't some glitch in the machine I tried it again and sure enough the game crashed.
Is someone having the same or similar problems? Could it be due to the refurbishing and creation of the Finland DLC? And what are SCS going to about this? I guess we'll just have to steer clear of the Malmo region and quite possibly Rostock too until it's sorted.
On a final note well done SCS for such a great sim.....

You didn't mention if you were using the new beta or not.
Also if you're using any mods.

I'm going through Steam so I thought that any new updates will be automatically be applied. And yes I'm using mods but only those approved via Steam. Although the ferry incident may be caused by a mod conflict I'm not so sure the 'no road' situation would be...or am I wrong?

There is no "approval". Anyone could upload whatever.

1. You only get 1.32 right now if you specifically opt in to the beta, so if you didn't do that then you don't have it, and the "refurbishing and creation of Finland DLC" will be completely unrelated to your problem.
2. Mods "approved by Steam" is not a real thing. Workshop mods are no more guaranteed to work or not break things than mods on a third party website would be.

My suggestions:
1. Disable all mods and see if the problem persists.
2. If the problem persists, verify integrity of game files and see if the problem persists.
3. If the problem persists, update your graphics driver and, again, see if the problem persists.

Then report back here.

The presence of a mod on Workshop does not convey any special status or guarantee. Workshop is nothing more than a convenient place from which to obtain mods. They are just as likely to be good or bad as a mod obtained elsewhere.

If you're using a "Real Companies" mod, try removing that.

Hi Guys and thank you so much for your messages. Your mention of mods alerted me to the possibility that one particular mod could have been the problem for the 'ferry incident'. And it was; GK Ghost Scandanavian Ferry Routes, which is well out of date and requires a newer version. Anyway, once disabled that little problem was out of the way. However, thinking about it, the mods created nowadays are so superior to those made years ago, which certainly made the game crash on a regular basis. Basically what I'm saying is that I've become so used to the stability and quality of our current mods that I don't question their reliability as much as I used to. Or maybe I'm just a trusting soul...

Steam 'approval' ratings: I didn't know that the ratings didn't quaify a mod per se. I thought that they were 'approved' to be of a certain standard or have a certain stability. Well you sure learn something new everyday.

Bon voyage my friends and thank you for your advice and comments...

Just to give you an update on the missing road near Malmo and the problems with the Rostock - Trellborg ferry; you were right to suspect that it was one or more of the mods that I was using. I created a new profile and ran it without any mods, and hey presto, I found that there is a road near Malmo and that the Rostock ferry is running normally. I'm rather pleased with this outcome as it's easily sorted from my end instead of it being a game issue. All I have to do now is work out which mods are duff...
