Huh? A normal thing to do.
And btw, for cars with Stop&Go (or what ever trademark a brand uses) to work you have to.
Ps. For regular cars, not an actual truck driver here...
I've had my truck license for 10 years now.
Is taught by everyone here to release the clutch and switch to neutral, to avoid expending the clutch.
^^^^^^ THIS, as far as clutch goes (maybe throw out bearing that wears).
IN GAME parking brake is quick, easy, one button on and off. Regardless of what works best IRL, it seems like a fine option in game (I admit that I never do as I don't have a wheel button bound to parking brake and normally do not touch KB.)
Probably somebody have made teaching video how clutch work and that video will help a lot future drivers!
Same here (although drove trucks for only 2 years), parking brake is a no brainer. No reason to bother standing on the brake for minutes on end. SCS didn't made it in game, but most modern truck have electric parking brake that automatically disengage once the truck is at the right RPM to move. The Renault T for exemple, you engage the parking brake at the traffic light and just accelerate when it turns green. No risk to move backward accidentally. I really wish SCS would implement that ingame, along with blindside proximity warning, automatic emergency braking, etc, there's a lot of great driver assistance RL that are simply absent of ETS2 and ATS.
The majorly of those assists would make ETS2 boring, and remove gameplay value.
Wow, that's a little rude for me merely pointing out those features on the actual truck are missing. I do not want an AI driver. I want a replay feature, since that fits perfectly. Having an AI drive for you is the opposite of what the game is about. However, those assists, lane assist, auto-brake, adaptive cruise control, emergency hazard avoidance, etc ARE part of trucking. Whether it makes trucking boring or not is not relevant in this context.
You should look for context, subject, and intent before making a reply to a post.
i never use the parking brake on a Hill or something.
Just press the foot brake and use the Hill assist (in real life)
