I think you have misunderstand something about 6x4 and other chassis.
If you not have activate the differential lock, all chassis types including the 6x4 will only draw on one twin wheel set on the one or the other side.
But it's correct that if you lock the differential, then the 6x4 is better than fewer drive axles, because with differential lock activated all rear wheel will draw... with that result it will be harder to steer, because with differential lock activated, the rear wheels now have same rotate speed on both sides. - That's why differential lock may only be used on rough terrain, and only for low speed.

On topic. The Scania V8s are some good accerating beasts.
This is my Scania ... 2400 HP with AWS ... works fine for me and is really fast in highspeed and accelaration :)
