I want to buy a driving kit
Hello all,

I'm planning to buy a new driving kit along with my new PC in order to play ETS2 and ATS with full immersion.

I want to buy a wheel, pedals, shifter and any other accessory that you might suggest.
I want the best kit which feels realistic and responsive.

To save you a headache, I'm not limited in budget so no need to concern yourselves with budget to performance ratio.

I would appreciate any suggestions you might throw and thanks in advance

I personally like my Logitech G920.

I've been reading these forums a lot, and generally read that the Thrustmaster wheels are considered better quality than the Logitech ones, not that the Logitech's are bad, just Thrustmater is better :-)
Then there are the head and eye trackers, there's cheap diy options and the 2 main ones, Track IR and the Tobii 4c, i have the Tobii 4c, and no experience with the Track IR, the main reason why i chose Tobii over Track IR is that i don't have anything attached to my head.
The Tobii works great, can't say better than this or that.

Logitech G920 wheel and pedals with TH8A shifter and I am very happy with both.

Bought logitech g29/920 about 2 years ago haven't had any issues including playing in vr. Shifter would be great with more resistance but does it's job well either way.

I have TrackIR and while it does work well, its really distracting when you want to try to keep your eyes on the road while you reach for a quick sip on your coffee, in fact you get a neckache just trying to keep your head still for a long time. Thats the main reason i dont use it.

If money wasnt an object, i would get a real truck cab and put that in my living room, whiteout the windows and project the screen image onto the windows, and have a G29 or something hooked up to the pc. You will have a bed aswell, so you could be like a trucker and live in the cab!

Thanks. You just saved me money on a track IR. Been thinking about getting one but prob won't after what you said about it. That would be a problem, for me anyhow.
I got a new refrigerator and was thinking about turning the cardboard box into a truck cab but I like your idea better.

As i said before, i don't know the trackIR, but with the Tobii 4c drinking and doing other stuff is just fine :-)
Besides that, irl you don't just look straight forward when driving, you also look at the scenery, have a drink, fiddle with the radio, stuff like that.

I cannot say enough good things about TrackIR, the industry standard forever. I have ZERO problems reaching for a coffee or a beer, have never in thousands of hours gotten a stiff neck etc. For me money is in fact no object and I have not considered using anything else.

It sounds like someone needs to tune their TrackIR settings, I fully agree with Sandhill. In fact I prefer my ultrawide monitor and TiR over my vive.

I've been looking into both of these, and still haven't made a decision. I don't usually drink much while playing however I have dogs that love to hit my chair or desk when playing...

Definetly get ultrawide or triple monitor with TrackIR or some other head tracking tool. Wheel and pedals is no question of course and TH8A is must have. And, if youre realy not limited in budget check this;)
