Issue with Helsinki

I really like the latest DLC (apart from "deliver to" type achievments!), but I have a gripe with Helsinki and the way the game forces me to go all the way around when I want to go East from the Ferry port. There is no connecting road from the port to the East side, the container depot and marina etc are only about 15-20 miles (guess) or so from the Ferry, but no connecting road means I have to go 77 to get to the East bound junction on the motorway. I just find this a bit daft.

Have you considered the possibility that trucks are not allowed in the city centre?

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I simply must answer this one and others might be wondering about this too. Vehicles over 12 metres long are indeed required to acquire a special permit to travel through the city centre/inner city area. One must apply for the permit 2 days beforehand but it seems like it's customarily granted, however. Helsinki City website has more info on the permit procedure:

It has also this map, which shows that the only possible way out of the Länsisatama without the permit is Länsiväylä as depicted in the game:

With the permit, one would most logically drive along Mechelininkatu (small part of it is in the game) to Mannerheimintie which changes to Hämeenlinnanväylä (Hämeenlinna motorway) going towards Hämeenlinna and Tampere and has junctions with Ring Roads I and III, respectively. The are couple of motorways on the east side of Helsinki (Tuusula motorway [goes to the airport as well], Lahti motorway and Porvoo motorway) but they are trickier to reach from the west side of the railroad tracks (which split Helsinki in half).
