The game was launched in Sept 2012 (Steam) and a new truck, the Iveco Stralis Hi-way, was added mid-2013, 8 months later (and later again with the Scania, Mercedes, DAF, ...). When they say that " the trucks are the same from the launch date ", they have basically no idea what they're talking about.
Dude, the game has had multiple new trucks since launch and is soon to get 2 more trucks.
No need for silly replies like this. He's using Steam so he has to be on at least 1.4.12 by now.
One question that hit me as I write this is, what truck would they ad after this. Because they are running out of long haul trucks in Europe, atleast the big mainstream models.
For ATS there are plenty of models that could and will come. They are working on several trucks as we speak.
Main hinterence for the trucks coming to the game has been license aquisition. The process has proven very long and tough. SCS can only ask, and work on proving to these people that there is something to gain from allowing their trucks to be in their games.
These companies are starting to see how much love and passion there is out there for their products, be it trucks, or trailers or accessories.
I aimed to be a truck driver but for many reasons that never came to be, but I get to pretend in SCS wonderful sim's.
There are plenty more left, the first thst comes to mind is the Ford F-MAX that won International Truck of the Year 2019. And if SCS has a competent licensing team they should be well on the way to licensing and making it available in-game.
Apart from new manufacturers, the way ETS2 should head is to start introducing and promoting trucks with alternative fuels such as LNG and electric powered trucks like the Tesla Semi and others that are in the pipeline.
