Safe to use modfiles from steam workshop?
I have a profile with many, many hours onto. I would love to use some mods like navigation colors and realistic sky colors. Can this ruin the savegame?

What mods can I use safely without risking to screw the profile up?

The problem here is that any mod can screw up a profile because unless you made it yourself you have no idea what is actually in that mod. Many times in the past I have used mods that claimed to do small things, but after opening the mod I could see they did far more than just what the mod advertised.

Whether the mod is sourced on Workshop or Offline you can't say with 100% certainty it only does what is listed.

All mods are a risk, most of us who use mods have a vanilla and mod profile. Test it before using it on a main profile. See exactly what it does, whether you're happy with it, and only then consider using it on a main profile. That's always the safest way.

Also remember modders eventually retire. So a mod that is updated frequently today, might not be in the future.

I won't suggest mods to you because I don't really touch other people's mods any more, but I will say some of the more popular ones aren't as "perfect" as some people think they are.

As I said above, make a mod profile, test mods before using them. That is really the best thing you can ever do.

Workshop files are generally considered safe to usa and are updated automatically, other mods are usually safe if loaded from their authorised sites. Some you should consider are Jazzycats traffic mods (all of them), weather mods from Grimes, Promods, Rusmap and Project Balkans all work well with V 1.32, although these map mods are yet to be updated. Other mods are usually safe, some will give conflicts it's all trial and error most times.

I would say, make it easy for yourself and back up your save file, and start modding your game. If the mod screws your Save then you just copy your back up and you will be good to go.
