If it's too big just stop the download and put yourself back which ever branch you are currently on. Update size will always depend on your install and which DLC you own, so no one can really answer the question for you as we'd all have different size updates.
Uninstall the game from Steam (but remember it's install location)
Get a USB stick with at least 5gb space - copy your friend's install files from: \Steam\SteamApps\common\Euro Truck Simulator 2
Don't bother copying DLC files you don't own, just takes up unnecessary space.
Move these files to your where your ETS2 was previously installed.
Click on the game in Steam and install it back to that location.
It should recognise that the files are there and do a validity check, if all goes well the only things it will download are your DLC packages that your friend might not own. The largest file is the base.scs which is over 2gb.
Just putting it out there as an option, if it works it beats taking your entire rig over there.
But TBH, 1.32 should be out in a month or two, so you might just be better off waiting and updating then.
