30 fps lock?

I'm watching SCS's live stream and they have the game locked at 30 fps. But this is not an option within the game itself. I'd also like to try playing the game like this, how do you (or they) do this? The game only lets you cap the framerate at 60 but not lower.

I'm pretty sure the "Economy" V-Sync setting caps FPS at 30. They could also be using a third-party program to do it.

I have no such option. All I have is "default" and "59 fps". Both are the same basically, the game tops out at 60 fps, only it's unstable. I'm not familiar with third-party software so a suggestion would also be welcome.

If you're using nvidia:
-turn off ingame vsync
-open nvidia cp
-click on manage 3d settings
-program settings tab (not global)
-find on the list or add to the list game exe file
-scroll to vsync
-choose adaptive half refresh rate and confirm
It shouldn't be much different with amd.

I read about this setting but for me it's not there in the Nvidia CP. Only on and off, but there's no adaptive half refresh option. Ironically, the newest Nvidia driver enabled a framerate lock in the CP, but the minimum value is 40 fps which doesn't make sense to me at all. If it was 30 the problem would be solved.

You're looking at options-graphics-refresh rate when you need to go to options-graphics-vertical synchronisation. Enabled is 60fps and economic is 30fps. V-sync is probably the least user-friendly name you could think of for frame limiting.

Go to steam-settings-in game and turn on fps counter to see fps is locked to 30.

I have fps problem where everywhere is solid 60 but when u pass tool stations it drops to 30 and stays till u pass the station and goes back to 60....like nothing in between lol, either 60 or 30.....what a nonsense.

@Orthx - probably a mod, at best a corrupted file, choose your therapy : )
