What's the point of buying trailers ?

So i'm new to the game and i noticed you can buy trailers either for you or your employees. But whats the point? If you accept an order a trailer will appear and you just have to connect it with your truck, same with your employees. As there is a massive configurator for trailers i don't think i know everything about the game... Can anybody please tell me what the trailers are all about... THANKS

The main point is you can earn more money with your own trailer. Also you can customise your own trailer with wheels, repaints etc and have the entire rig to your taste.

You can also specialize in a certain type of cargo. Logging, for example.. or low-loaders and just do machinery. etc. etc. etc.

AI gains more exp and money
For personal use they are useless as you have to fumble through your inventory to take the trailer you need to find certain jobs

you dont need them i dont use them i just do external jobs where you pick one up deliver it job done :D

I have quite a lot of trailers, it's much nicer to have a matching rig. Or have a setup emulating a real company.

Same here,..can't be bothered with them. Who cares about pimping them with different hub-caps. Just pick a job, trailer comes with it, let's go and drive. Done!

But with your own trailer, just show up to the job site, park up, leave. No need to unhitch and hitch up every load. Let the people in the building do all the heavy lifting. You just keep your ass in your seat and make $$$.

I see nothing to suggest that the AI gains extra XP from owned trailers - XP is purely and simply based on distance driven.
