Used trucks
What you guys think, would it be nice to get a chance to buy used trucks in ets2 too. the ets1 had that opinion to get a used truck for the start. and of course it also would be nice if they added possibility to the game that, something might broke down from you truck. and thats why you need to get to towtruck to tow you to nearest town, it would make this game whole more realistic.

To be frank, used trucks are pointless once you earn some cash. There is little point adding them when the money you earn in game is ludicrously large amounts.

many good points, still wishing more trailer types to buy and one of the biggest wish that not only semi trucks, but, combination of truck and "true" trailer.. hope you understand what I mean,.

Yeap thats what I mean, they are common here in finland, and other nordic countries too, so it would be nice to play with them

With a bit of irony...

1st, multiple customizable setups for buying new trucks;
2nd, be able to swap new and old trucks on the fly (on occupied slot = selling old one);
3rd, aging of single parts with specific malfunctions (replacing part vs regular maintenance);
4th, you got used trucks, your whole fleet ; )
5th, all trucks used for Quick Jobs are old (good luck)
6th, even a newbye that may buy an old=cheaper truck in the beginning will may regret it ^^"

What is your idea of old trucks in ETS2? Mine is the above one, but if order is messed up...

The problem with used trucks in the game is all about license from the truck manufactores. They deside what trucks they would have in the game. They will never allow older trucks, becouse they want to make a brand for there newer models.

The point is this is a simulator, few companies buy brand new Trucks, especially ones that are starting out.

While I do agree with that, few companies also bring in $10,000+ per delivery with no expenses, and have the options of buying new trucks for $90,000.

Driving simulator, yes. Business/money simulator - Not a chance. After a few months you make so much money you can pretty much burn each truck after every delivery.

Are we confusing used (second hand trucks) with old (a model out of production)? Because I wrote while thinking about used ones, trucks already available in the game but in conditions different than a "freshly factory assembled" one.

yea, this is what I ment. used second hand trucks in worse condition of course than the new one.. but still.. it would also be nice to see those old models (models out of production), maybe not as new ones, but as second hand trucks, and yea. of course those different mechanical failures.. like broken tyre, oil change must do after every x kilometers.. suspension problems etc etc...

In that case I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm pretty new, about 2 months in game time. I have one driver using a 6x2 Scania and the basic trailer and i drive 6x4 600 bhp Volvo. Im not making a huge profit yet. Maybe I need to give it more time.

more time yes, and more drivers, yes. but do not buy trailers, you dont get any big difference to income with own trailer, actually its vice versa, trailers aren´t that cheap, and the payout from the jobs are same..
