Those are actually all real truck brands, although I'm afraid I've never seen mods for any of them. I do know however that the Leyland plant in Lancashire produces DAF trucks, including all RHD varients of the XF series.
a proper new truckmod.
Leyland was apart of DAF a Dutch truck company. while there might be a plant for truck building in the UK, ultimately DAF and Leyland were bought out by PACCAR, an American truck building company that also have Peterbilt and Kenworth in its portfolio.
Every truck coonstructed from that plant in the UK is American designed and built for the UK market since the two DAF trucks you see in ETS2 were designed before 1997 and DAF was bought out in 1996.
matters none at all. and american trucks don't have to be designed and built the way you see them as they currently are with the extra space up front for the big engine when it can be just stuffed under the floor of the cabin.
as i mentioned, DAF was bought in 1996, that means all designs and patents automatically went to PACCAR, they own them and probably was involved in the design process for the euro XF version as well. Doesn't matter if some Dutch guy designed them himself, if he was or still is an employee of PACCAR in some form, it means they designed them since i doubt he would get anywhere by himself without support.
I spend every day around trucks, im a diesel mechanic, and iv worked on most of the manufacterers around today, i can also see the leyland truck factory from my house too, im not saying im the all knowing wise one when it comes to this subject. but im pretty sure i know what im talking about. especially the design process, as i went to the factory on a tour, i asked the questions on design as to how does an american designer know what is good for european vehicles, and they said that the design for the european market is designed in eindhoven. so yea.
