Self driving mod?

Hello, I know this post is probably really crazy but I would like to ask if there is any self driving/autopilot mod? When I play ets2 and drive on longer distance I would love to relax and take few minute break

We need optional front assist, lane assist, light assist like in real life. But autopilot and nothing to do, that is no fun sorry. Than i can start a tour and go to my real life work? This is really strange.

maybe it's not fun for you, like having truck speed limiter option enabled.

but for some people, it's fun. therefore autopilot is an additional option. not removing H-shifter or automatic transmission.

having autopilot is also passive income. i can watch people playing 4000km ets2 like autopilot with 4K graphics but with no earning and also not having controll. with autopilot, i'm still earning

You are right. It was just my opinion and if scs give us an autopilot i will disable it. You can also have a passive earning if you hire KI truck driver.

I would Love an Autopilot, just enjoy the truck moving forward, from different camera angles.. watch some Youtube and when the truck is close to a city, take it Off.
Roads in the game are perfect, no imperfections, steady as she goes, a autopilot would fit right in!

Everyone that says No to autopilot, can also argue to remove AutoPark, in my opinion they should have g_simple_parking_doubles 0 as default in the game.
I enjoy reversing, i dont enjoy driving a straight road for 20minutes with cruise control..
Autopilot suits the game more than autopark.. like alot of people do in TruckersMP, autopark and go out again, silly

Not exactly. If you removed autopark and a player simply was unable, after many tries, to get the trailer backed in, or straight enough, then the only option would be to abandon the load. Sound like fun? Not at all. Parking a load isn't one of the major points of the game, however, driving the trucks IS the main point. Remove that, and you remove the reason to play.

If there were an auto-pilot feature, then I would argue that you should get no rewards for loads delivered while using it, since you aren't doing the work to get it there; and only partial reward if you used it for any part of the journey. If you picked up a passenger, you wouldn't pay them just for being in the truck with you. ;)

In a (mostly) singleplayer game, does it really matter how other people want to enjoy it? It doesn't affect you. I don't know why so many people seem to feel like having an option that someone else would want is taking something away from themselves.

I would not mind geting no rewards for autodrive function. I would use it as screensaver and take control when i feel too.

The option itself wouldn't affect me, true. However, the development time spent by SCS to introduce an option to bypass driving in their truck driving simulator seems counter-productive and would be better spent on other things, hm?

@Danedanger - If it will be ever implemented, my guess is that you won't get XP for the part in which auto-pilot was used, but auto-pilot won't be able to bring you from company to company, would be possible to use it just on some straight roads like tollways and when the most you would do is just a lane change to avoid the wrong exit. The moment a player input is required it would pause and wait for you to drive, or disengage and cause a disaster while you are not watching at all : D

All in all, why not? SCS surprised us many times with many stuff (trailer cables, voiced navigator, reworking of navigation system, open DA window, etc.) ^^'
