Truck's average fuel used per 100 km
It would be interesting to know how much fuel I've spent per 100 km in my truck. As far as I know it doesn't show me that in-game. I am using the realistic fuel consumption option.

However the game does show me how much distance I am expected to be able to cover with my current fuel and how much fuel I have in the tank right now. I can easily calculate what the projected fuel economy is from that. I wonder if that is just a static number for the truck or whether this value is set to be my average fuel usage from all past trips combined.

Right now the game claims I can travel 1786 km with the remaining 632 l of fuel. That would mean 35.4 l/100 km. So what I am asking is that can I trust this number to be equal to my lifetime average in that truck or does the game choose some other value to base the distance-with-fuel-left calculations on?

It gives you that on the onboard computer display, i often drive with that showing so i can keep my consumption down

I know some trucks do show it for sure, but I thought they all did. You have to cycle through the dashboard display modes.

It's not a static number, but I don't know how it is calculated, so I can't really answer your question. Sorry.

In most of the trucks you can change computer view (default 'i' key) and see average fuel usage, calculated distance, fuel in tanks (not all trucks, new DAF does not have this). So, you can calculate values, using this average. Average can be reset, however you have to assign a key for 'reset trip' in your key settings. Unfortunately, calculated distance does not use average fuel. It base on 35l/100km as far as I know, and always the same, so it cannot be trusted that much (especially when hauling heavy loads through the mountains, where your fuel usage might rise to 50l/100km). The simplest and fastest estimation can be done by - 30 liters for 100km.(ex. 1500km / 30l gives you something like 500l). It is very rought estimation, however you can see in general, if you have to refuel now, or you can drive until your working time will end.

Only at current operating conditions, at current time. You could be climbing a gradiant with at 50t GVM holding the revs at max, look at your burn rate and it could tell you at that given time and contitions you will only have enough fult for 300km's.. On the other side of the hill coasting down with the retarder on using no fuel, it will inform you that you can go for say 3000km's.
The fuel computer is mainly there as a guide to being as eco as possible. its not exact not even in the real things. There are to many constantly changing variables for it to be exact.

Unfortunately no, estimated disance is not changing when under heavy load. It is calculated on constant average, that does not match our driving style, and trailer weight. Not in this game, unfortunately

Thanks for the replies. Didn't know that I can cycle through the dashboard display modes in order to see that statistic. Will use that.

I'm not talking about that estimated rubbish based on the tare of the prime.

real time data that does actually tally up in the sim... the 1.4 is your base line average to try and stay above, top number 3.3 is real time actual (on slight decline). Now you don't need to be a rocket scientist just basic education will do to work out the variables. I know I have a 800ltr tank, the guage is showing at a glance I have around 720ltrs. if I was to drive at 3.3 for the duration of the trip the data says I would travel around 2300km impossible, but if I can stay as close to my base line average I should be able to make around 900 to a 1000km.
So yes driving style and weight make a difference in game...and I congratulate SCS for getting it as close as they have done.

So to answer the OP's question use the base line average to work out your per 100km average fuel consumption, after a while you will be able to work out pretty close how far you can get on a tank in said truck with your driving style.

Happy Trucking :)
