A .scs file created by SCS needs their extractor, and not a 3rd party one like WinZip...

Available on this page..

https://eurotrucksimulator2.com/mod_tools_archived.php

Some are also locked by the creator, and may be the problem..

First be sure all your mods is up to date, some older mods can cost that problem. there are lots of mods out there not updated to the latest version 1.3. If they are not, they can cause the game to go down or conflicts otherwise in the game, a known problem is trafficmods that are too old give red cars in the game.

Eagle Eye: Im not trying to extract the .SCS, but the file with SCS. Like it: I install a mod, for example, a MB 1113. When i install, it is in a .RAR, with the .SCS file and .txt file with credits, etc.
With 7zip or WinRar, i cant extract the .scs to mods folder, but i can extract the .txt, for example;
This is what is happening to me.

BCS: I think that is up to date, the mods that i tried, and all others, are for 1.30 and 1.31. But i cant even install the mod in mod folder, so i dont think its it.

Sorry bad english.

You should only have the SCS-files in your mod folder.

Unless it's a mod there is a Standalone map mod, then you put ZI-file in your mod folder.

Here is a guide form Squirrel how to install standalone maps to ETS2.

You can download a free version of WinRAR if the one you have not can do the job

https://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-64-bit/3000-2250_4-10965579.html

If you still can't open the RAR'file and it comes with a Error when you try to open it is it becouse the modder there make it have closed it, then you can't use it unless you contact him/her to get the code for it.

Or maybe the zip file is damaged, you could download it again and see is that is the problem.

Yes that can also be a option. Or maybe see if you can find it from another browser, that also sometimes works.

Yes, in the first time, i tought it was the zip file, but is not. I tried with others ZIPs and all works, but, all ZIP files with SCS, have this error. I just have .scs files in mod directory, but, when i try to extract a .scs file, from a zip, or rar, to "mod", it has an error.
It's very strange, since the workshop mods are working perfectly.

Then you have been vyer unlucky, becouse i have downloaded a lot of ZIP or RAR files there works perfect.

I have also sometimes got a ZIP or RAR file, and when i open it, there wasn't any SCS file in it. but it all was in the RAR file.
If that is the problem you pack to a SCS file, very simple you take the things there is in the ZIP or RAR file and repack the it all as a SCS file.

To do that you use your WinRAR and pack it as a Zip and up where the name for the file is you give for exsemple:

Paintskin_ Scania_S.scs

it's the scs in the name at last there make it to a SCS-file you pack it all in compression "save"

If the .zip file doesn't have an .scs file in it you can copy it to the mod folder without extracting.

If the .zip file does have an .scs file in it you can extract all files to a folder of your choice and then copy the .scs file into the mod folder.

(more just pointing out, rather than responding to this)

That is likely your problem.

Some mod authors purposely damage the archives (I think its by removing the headers or something in an archive) to prevent extracting them. On the SCS forum, look up something called D.A.R.T or Damaged Archive Repair Tool. In most cases, that should allow you to extract them after they are repaired.

The game will still read them (honestly, I agree with some others on the forums) when it shouldn't and I wish SCS would put a check into the game for that to make sure its a valid archive that can be properly read. Mod authors will tell you its to prevent stealing, but all that does is encourage people to steal those mods anyway.

Rule of thumb when mod making: if you don't want them stolen, don't release in the first place. Otherwise, they'll just have to accept that this is the internet and it will happen.

On a technicality, SCS files are literally just renamed ZIP files with I think normal compression now. Mod authors just ended up using the extension for some reason, but the game will read normal ZIP files if its packed correctly according to directory structure. I've also heard the game will read the files outside of zips just fine, again.. adhering to folder structure.

My problem is partially solved. What i did:
First: Pick the .zip file who is the .scs inside, copy it, put inside a .rar. Open this .rar with WinRar and then click in repair as zip file.
Problem: Just works with mods that i can still extract.

And, the final solution is to install another. I tested with like 50 mods, of 50, 15 mods had this problem, and, all the mods were from the same website (ets2.lt).
After this, i installed too much mods from this site, to test if it was really this;
Then, they doesnt works. So, its it: The .SCS files from this website, were damaged, without any chance of repair.

Thank you all for the help comrades, and sorry for my bad english.
