I want to buy the logitech G saitek for farming simulator 17, but is it also a good steering wheel for ets2?

No it is not, it is flimsy and has a massive deadzone. The side panel itself is very usable though.
Then again maybe I'm spoiled as I have a G27 and the (original) Saitek set.

If you can afford it, buy yourself a G29 or G920 and the gear-shifter and/or the side side-panel. The wheel that comes ith the side panel is just crap. But the side-panel makes an excellent base for all kinds of sim-games. I use it for ETS2. FS17, Sailaway (Sailing simulation !!), OMSI 2 (Bus simulator) and it works just fine!. You can buy it separately as well. And the gear shifter is nice if you want to drive on manual clutch instead automatic gear.

I love my G27, im just working on the control file to have 50 controls with the wheel and gear stick panel

I can't recommend a specific controller, but as usual cheap is not better. There are the likes of Logitech, Thrustmaster and so on. It also depends if you want a clutch too. Shop around, google if you want.

Logitech G29 or G920 is the best. I am happy with.

not everyone has a ton of money to spend on a wheel.
i am very happy whte my xbox360 controler for just 25 bucks.
