Italy is worse.
Tolls everywhere.
Just leave France, make money on the rest of the map, then go back.
NO WORRIES!

Who cares,..honestly,..there's nothing much to spend your money on anyway. This is one side of the Sim that really does need an overhaul. Once you've pimped your truck and purchased a few garages there's not much else really.

I have no garages but I'm almost a millionair just from the amount of hours I've put into the game. Getting a fine for speeding is something I keep in my back pocket now as loose change. Lol :steamhappy:

Yeah, France got a ton of tollbooths. 83 to be exact and Italy got approximately 60 of the things. Very annoying. :steamfacepalm:
There's not really anything you can use your money on when you're rich.
I just role play the game and have millions € as pocket money to pay for tickets and playing with the AI. By playing I mean pushing, shoving, shunting, ramming and running the AI idiots off of the roads or into the guard rails for fun. :steammocking:

Try using the GPS setting for "small roads" and you'll not only avoid most of the tolls, you'll see some of the beautiful scenery that you don't normally get to see when sticking to the highways. Just watch your time and don't be late! :)

Each town is bundled with toll booths,I think the only towns that are more open are the ones from original game releases,so as long SCS doesn't start to introduce those dang secondary roads that are not the same reskinned highway he will have very few places to drive around without dealing with those gates and all of them are just in town/city deliveries cause as soon you leave for example Nice to make a delivery to Marseille you're greated with yet another gate to pass through.

Fairly certain the toll booths are only on the highways and the approach roads to the highways, not on the secondary roads themselves. If you're sticking to the secondary roads, there should be no tolls.

The only problem I have with the toll booths is the fact that I have to slow down to pass through <.< Should've been like the one between Denmark and Sweden by the Øresund Bridge where you don't actually have to slow down.

I will take a look on those secondary roads cause when I played on the MP mod I was usually taking jobs from La Rochelle and another place which had a secondary road close by and least gates but I don't remember which one it was.

This will require time as you will have to get through all of those drivable gates but while checking console dumps I saw this

[tollgate] activated 'start' tollgate (0x7BAC542AFA60000)

this is from a toll gate outside Genova, so if you can make some kind of external injector that checks which gate you are close by it will possibly activate said gate allowing to run through it without slowing down,I'm pretty sure that the game has a proximity trigger that checks your position and speed on map and then activates the gate on your lane,so the trick will be to increase trigger distance or make the invisible barrier to instantly go up without delay

If France is the capital of toll roads then which country is the capital of Traffic Circles? France has got to be in the running for that title.
Sky_Goddess Apr 29, 2018 @ 10:29am
Or what about the capital for speed cameras? I think the UK would be a very favourable candidate, lol.
PERO Apr 29, 2018 @ 10:29am
SCS was just following the system in France. Most of their "highways" are privately owned or were made my private companies, at least this is what I have been told by a Frenchman.
Italy has a system, where you pay for each KM you drive, so all costs are covered.

France is favorite place to drive they sure have passive and aggressive drivers and tolls then see grampa driving old mini car he going piss off sociopath that drives the Lambogini.
