From Dover to calais

I watched a clip on utube explaining how to cross the channel.I want to get to stokes in france to complete a job.I drove my truck perfectly into the lit zone and pressed enter,then clicked on calais.Clicked on depart.I was transformed back into dover at night time.I'm confused how I will ever come out on the other side?It seems like the game just starts up from where I left off,but no other truck is on the train?Can anyone help,as I am enjoying this game.

Are you using any mods, map or otherwise? Did you click again when you reached the other side? Was there a loading screen?

Both sides of the train crossing look identical. When you arrive, you will be in what appears to be the same spot, but will actually be on the other side of the channel, but your truck will be perfectly aligned on the train car.

That's gotta be it, since he mentioned the passing of time. I once had the other extreme, departure and arrival place looking nothing alike. It was on some map mod. Started out in a huge ferry, to end up on a boat that looked as if it would sink any minute.

They didn't randomly change shapes, though.

I did drive on to the top of the hill and once out of the area I expected to see the other traffic on the oppisite side of the road.But I came to the Dover- Southampton sign.Is it possiblbe to cross on the ferry? Will have a nother look to day ,But I don't have a passport !

Brilliant i got it to work .I had to press depart again.Took a look at the map and the blue arrow was on the othe side in france.I arrived at my destination late again.Then took another job back
to felixstow.What impressed me most was the next truck that I borrowed was left had drive.
I am 60 and had never driven on the other side of the road before.This will give me some expereience I hope.Very adictive,great game.May be I will look for an add on Thanks!
