What does it mean C1 and C2 stand for in transmission?
The question up here.
Thanks in advance.

C1 and C2 are for crawling. Sometimes trucks have to haul very heavy loads and to get up to speed without stalling a lot, you start in crawl gear. The gears are both in US trucks and EU trucks. I made a peek a boo into a Scania truck parked near me and sure enough, it got a C on the shifter knob.

I'm not sure though as I'm not a truck driver ... yet. I'm attending a truck driver's education so I should get more knowledge later on.

Happy crawling.. ehh, I mean :longhaul:in'

TruckerKate is correct, these are crawler gears to get heavy loads moving.

I haven't used them much yet. Except there was one time here recently when I wished I had them. I have a standard 12 speed in my 2016 Scania R 500 V8. It has no C gears. I was on an on-ramp with a 52 ton load, and I kept stalling. Eventually, I had to back down the hill and step on it. I guess that's one reason C gears and escort cars exsist... :steamhappy:

It's crawler gear. You use it if first gear is too high.

In real life crawler gear doesn't have synchromesh. Which means you have to make a full stop before shifting to C or shifting from C to any other gear. It's not a magic, R gear also doesn't have synchromesh. First you stop then you reverse :)

Somehow scs didn't implement it realisticly though, in game you can shift as you want :)
