Mysterious toll booth damage

I saw there was some previous posts and just wondered if this was still an issue?

I went thru the toll gate just outside Warsaw on my way to Poznan (used the 2nd booth from the left) and stopped and activated the gate. I waited for the gate to go up and once it did I went thru.

All of a sudden the trailer had 3% damage but I didn't hear anything hit anything, didn't see any jarring or bumps or shakes or anything, just the damage notification.

Was it the fact I went thru the "wrong" booth, or is there still something up with some of the booths?

You might have clipped the barrier as it was raising. How far out were you? The only thing I've noticed with toll booths is that outside traffic seems to be blind and will turn in even if you're in the way. I've gotten damaged plenty of times from that.

Must have been that batch of bricks hitting your trailer on the way through, courtesy of the disgruntled basic wage booth employee...

No, it's still an issue. It's been reported before but SCS can't seem to replicate it as it is a bit random. The only consistent thing is that it happens at the toll plazas in Poland. It doesn't happen every time and doesn't seem to make a difference which lane you use, nor what trailer/cargo you're hauling. It just happened to me yesterday while working on the WoT Event; went through a toll near Lodz and got 2% trailer damage as I pulled away from the plaza. No traffic other than me and I certainly didn't hit the sides or barriers; pulled straight through and was in the center of the lane.

When I haul Freight Market I do a save as I approach the plazas in Poland so that if it happens I can re-load to just before the plaza. Unfortunately, External Contracts don't allow you to do this.

Well what d'you know? I just had this on the toll booth on the A89 out of Bordeaux. I took the left side one, paid, barrier went up, smacked into an invisible wall. It's like the collision box for the barrier doesn't follow the model. I reversed, took the one on the right and went right through.
I've been through the same toll booth at least 3 times so as Ryu said, it's a bit random.

@Blank - That one maybe it is a different issue. The ghost damage happens in Going East DLC, and in my case it gives me a 5 or 6% damage. The one in France DLC, about an invisible barrier, happens when you use the pass-through gates but your speed is a lot more than 30Km/h.

Edit: I should add that Italy have the same automatic gates of France and the same speed limit of 30Km/h.

How would your speed be more than 30 km/h? You have to stop at a toll booth.
Anyway, even if they're not related they're probably related. They're both issue with collision detection.

I assume they mean that if you speed up too quick while going thru the toll booth after stopping.

There are Auto-Pass lanes (where there is no gate) in atleast Scandinavia, where you can drive through at 30 or 50 km/h. Also some with higher limits iirc, where it's just the limit of the road.

Anyways, I also got 3% at a stop-booth in Poland today (not the first time), so yeah, it still happens. And of course it was a WoT job, so no reloading. Wish they'd finally fix this.. Just make the barrier stay up or non-collision for like 30 seconds after you pass it or something like that.

I can also confirm that "Poland issue". Same happened to me while I was driving a Racing components from WoT event.

Yep, that bug is still there. Poland toll booth west of Katowice. Instant 2% trailer damage when driving out. It's odd that such a significant bug stays for almost a month...

Oh, it's been more than a year. This isn't a new thing, unfortunately.

I have limited experience with the Polish booths, but after I got hit 2-3 times while in the inner lanes, I didn't get hit while going through the outermost lane. Maybe I was lucky, maybe not, but since then I always take the outermost booth lanes in Poland. Maybe it's random, as Ryu says, but it doesn't hurt for anyone to pick that lane while in Poland.

Ouch, I guess I was lucky to not to drive in Poland that often then and second ouch for the dev team being unable to fix that for so long lol

Or maybe that's just to add some "realism": Driving through Poland, slowing down, *poof* some wheels on trailer gone *hides* xD

Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely try that next time. Since I also get the damage on inner lanes but never tried outer ones.

Sorry for the small necro, but since patch 1.32 had revisited the damage system, don't you think this issue is now gone?

Before we had truck and trailer damage only and as soon as trailer damage was above 1% was a sure penalty (even XP) -.- Now there are truck, trailer and cargo damage separately so damaging trailer will turn into a small loss only if you are using your own.

By the way, do someone can confirm if had get cargo and/or trailer phantom damage at Poland's toolgates yet/again?
