Better Cruise Control
Current cruise control system (even with 0 tolerance) does not do breaking/slowing in inclined roads thus it goes over set speed (then u get speed fine (: )

So i want a better a cruise control system which stays at set speed no matter what road conditions/incline is...

Also what is truck speed limiter option? İt is checked but it does nothing or am i missing sth?

Get a transmission with a retarder. With that, you'll find that the tolerance option makes more sense.

The limiter does exactly what it says, limits the truck to 90 km/h. But if you have a trailer connected that is from external contracts, it will still be limited to 90 km/h. So it only makes a difference for truck without a trailer connected or with a trailer from the regular job market.

Do you have a transmission with a retarder?? If so then the cruise control does a pretty good job of maintaining speed down slight inclines. Just like in the real world you'll need to use the brake to maintain speed on a steeper incline because the default retarder cannot slow the truck enough.

and set your cruise control to like 2km/h below the allowed top speed, that way even downhill you won´t get above the limit... on very steep sections you might have to reduce it further...

retarder is key (all gear boxes with an R or "Retarder" after the name)

i did the same as what the op did and also what you did here, the CC still goes over by 1kmh :P

Auto Retarder: on
Cruise control grid step: 1kmh or 1mph
Smart cruise control: tolerance 0kmh

all that already set, as mentioned before still 1 kmh over. the game settings doesn't allow for negative kmh values.

There's a button for "decrease CC".

you appearently don´t understand what i mean...

you just press the button (which locks your current speed) when you are driving 2 km/h below the allowed speed limit... or you use the +/- cruise control buttons to set it to 5km/h below (or which ever steps you set up in the options)...

in 99.99% of the cases the truck will accelerate downhil to the allowed limit that way, not above it, except for mountain roads maybe...

that´s how i do it and it works, period...

in case you don´t know... there are quite a few buttons for CC

activate at current speed
re-engage (at previous speed, after f.e. using the brakes, which disengages the cc)
+/- speed (in predefined steps)
engage at programmed speed
and maybe one or 2 more, not sure...

if you are not going to be helpful then don't comment, i don't need to sit here guessing by whatever you mean.

The reason i don't understand because you are pointing me generally at something without being specific on context, so all i got to work with is pressing "C" when and where needed and i do that to enable and disable CC when needed.

Thanks for your friendly reply.
In the game settings there is a page with the key bindings.
You can find four keys for cruise control there:
"enable/disable cruise control",
"increase cruise control speed",
"decrease cruise control speed" and
"re-enable cruise control with previous speed".

i really don´t know how i could be more specific than this...

but tl/dr: press "c" at 87 km/h and it won´t go faster than 89 downhill... if you have a retarder

The best engine brakes and retarders are no match against gravity when going down steep grades hauling heavy loads.... You are going to have to manage your speed on the way down..... And that's that
yeah well, heavy loads and mountains are a story of their own ;)
