Remove Autoupdate
Stupid question maybe but is it possible to disable autoupdates? My game gets messed up with my mods when it updates, I also have to redownload some mods etc and some mods wont support the new updates and I have to start over again because my game crashes if I try to load an old savegame where I removed a mod etc etc

So yea, can I disable updates?

Yeah unfortunately your only option is to use a beta branch to stay on whatever version you want for ETS2.

Yes, no, maybe. Check this guide: https://appuals.com/how-to-disable-steam-auto-updates/

Yes you can in Syeam settings somewhere - but I believe that is general for all games. Might be wrong.
You can select a temporary branch of the previous version when the game updates

So there's like no way to completely disable updates? For only one game?
I just checked and I was wrong. I was thinking of the settings that Dim67 linked to.

Steam disregards any attempts to not update games regardless of settings. One way or another, if an update is pushed, you will get that update.

SCS provides various beta branches for patches in the past that one can use. Those are frozen and won't get any updates. However, they do get removed from time to time to free up space as they did allocate every slot they had. They only remove the patches least used, so the most recent ones will usually be around for a while.

That's honestly kinda ♥♥♥♥ from steams side to not allow us stop updating games, don't see any reason why they wouldn't let us

multiplayer issues mostly. Especially when some kind of glitch or even harmful code is involved. To save resources they disabled the "don't update" feature all along. It was possible few years ago to not update.
At the end of the day, we don't own the games on Steam. We merely pay for a license to play them. They decide when we have to update and their decision is "always".

As said already, just choose your favourite version in the beta menu. Then it won't get updated anymore.
Yea I guess that's what I'll have to do
Thanks guys for the help
