takes a bit to get used to, almost gave up on it on the first days of fiddling with it, but glad i didn't :-) it's great having no mirrors on screen.
After reading some reviews i got the feeling that TrackIR is a bit better in tracking, but the Tobii has the advantage of nothing on your head, which for me is a huge advantage.
a bit of a downside is that you have to stick it to your monitor, or that's the way it's suposed to be setup, which won't fit on a curved monitor.
It doesn't have a free standing support, like a mini tripod or something.
I would imagine that Tobii adds as much to the games as TrackIR. If you can afford to go for it, I would honestly suggest you do.
That said it does depend on how you play, I struggle with TrackIR when I use the keyboard (beta testing) I only really use it for gamepad/wheel usage as it completely eliminates a hand control input which also adds the bonus effect of extra keys on game pad/wheel since look left/right are freed up.
I play with a G29 wheel and pedals, no shifter because it needs fixing. The 4c has face tracking too but after comparing the Tobii and TrackIR online I may find the TrackIR better to work with.
Don't you have to turn your head for TrackIR to turn the camera? How do you look at the screen when you have your head turned to the side?
So for example you can set it in a way that when you turn your head a little bit you only see oncoming traffic and mirrors, and have the eye part of the tracking to see further, or visa versa.
TrackIR has the option to set different profiles so you can adjust the response curves. This means you can magnify the response to your head movement - turn head 5 degrees, view shifts 30 degrees etc.
It's very easy and natural to use once you get it setup appropriately.
