Best heavy haul truck
I normaly drive a DAF but for heavy hauling I need a different truck. What do you drive, what specs do you have?

For heavy hauling I'll recommend you use Scania or Volvo, with the most powerfull engine (more than 700 hp) and a 12+2 gearbox transmission.
Furthermore, if you should get anything in a quarry, I'll recommend 6x4 or 8x4 chassis

Scania, obviously. But don't use the 12+2 gearbox- the top speed is lower than the one that is just 12 gears- it was the 3rd one from the bottom I think. Also the tank on the 6x4 is smaller so get the 8x4- it has a 1 000l tank.

Correct... and so what?
OP not ask for a racing truck, but for a truck to heavy haul.

Correct and agree.

volvo is most powerful i watch before couple dayes demostration of volvo with 8x4 chassis pulling 700 tons cargo in some dockyard in holland

All trucks in game are capable of everything the game provides. However, some are more powerful yes. But, if you like your DAF just use it.
I would not use the 8x4 chassis, 6x4 is enough imho. Besides Volvo and Scania the Mercedes and MAN are also powerful. Renault or Iveco would be difficult.

Fair enough. I know some people like to roleplay and obey traffic laws but I drive like a maniac- as fast as possible.

Also fair enough, that's your playing style, and I know you are not the only player who want drive as fast as possible. :)

I do everything with any 6×4 and ~500 hp with some low gears.
700 hp is overkill exept you have loads above ~150 t. Or you go for a race. :)

Something that tends to get missed is that large wheels turn more easily. If you've got the Michelin pack or tyre mods, fit the largest ones you can. You probably want the noisiest ones too, since that implies more ground contact.

Its Ohahas volvo and I just hope someone will update it for 1.35
BTW more horses isnt overkill (I have 750) just makes accelerating not so hard on engine/gearbox and dealing with inclines a lot easier esp with a (14 gear) crawler box fitted and using engine braking as you have more torque.
I also spent a bit of time adjusting the cargoes in jazzycats mods to have more "weight" to them so as you dont go careering off from a standing start to 80kph in 10sec flat and when you hit incline you can "feel" its impact on load and truck.
I rareley get above 70 kph with a really heavy load but then they are speed restricted to 70kph (or lower)
Anyway, this is how I have set it up the way I like and like in life, there are many choices and not everybody likes the same.

I did heavy hauls with nearly every truck in the game and - after my experience - chassis and transmission are more important than HP. As others pointed out, every truck can do these jobs, but if you get stuck on a ramp f.e. you'll see the difference... So get at least 6x4, if available a 8x4 and a 16 speed transmission (12+2 in case of Volvo and Scania).

I haven't tried the MAN 8x4 yet. So my favorite truck for this purpose is the Mercedes new Actros 8x4 with the 16 speed transmission. It has got "only" 625 HP, but you won't get more than that in ATS for any truck (unmodded). Bad news: The Mercedes reaches the highest gear in this configuration at about 60 km/h. So it's definitely no racing config...

Well -- maybe -- if your engine feels to strong, it would be easier to get a weaker engine than to mod Jazzycats mods to more weight, isn't it?

Besides of that, being creative and doing ones own stuff is a thing everyone should do! :)

I drive Volvos for heavy cargo, they tow everything. When assembling a heavy duty truck you can watch the heavy cargo indicator progressing when you are using the right parts.
