Is this game any "fun"?

Am thinking of getting it, but I'm still wondering why is it so popular. Sure, it's realistic and all that (apart from crashes), but is there anything more to it than just being a cargo trucker doing deliveries? Can't help, but think of real life car accidents where truckers felt asleep behind the wheel. I don't think they're having any "fun"...

In short, what can you do in this game?

There is a demo although it may be not so much updated if compared with current game version.

Don't try the demo unless you are willing to give up your soul to trucking! I never would have thought that I would enjoy this game. I decided to try the demo during the steam sale and ended up buying ATS and ETS2 along with a bunch of DLC. It's all I've been playing now for 2 weeks.

It's hard to explain the appeal of this game, and to be honest I'm surprised it's so popular myself. This is by far my most played game on Steam, it's not something I consider "fun" in the traditional sense, but it still sucked me in really good. It's a very relaxing, almost therapeutic experience; basically my main attraction to this game is the same reason I like IRL road trips, you can just chill and go for a drive. Honestly you really have to try the demo to know if it will work for you

go for it if you are:
- fed up with COD like games,
- not fast enough for the top of the simracers,
- not much time to crunch the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of info for flightsim ,
- strategies, survival games and RPGs are not you thing,
- and still want to play some game...

Well, that's because Anthem is crap. AAA doesn't guarantee quality or popularity.

That's because of the hours RL truckers have to do, plus sitting on your backside for 12-15 hours a day tends to lead to being overweight and bringing on sleep aponea which can cause you to fall asleep when doing monotonous tasks.

If you want a game that is chilled out and lets you drive a variety of trucks towing a variety of items, then this is the game for you. It is not fast paced but more a relaxing drive in the countryside with large vehicles. I bought it on sale and was surprised how much I enjoyed it, so for me it's been loads of fun, your mileage might vary.

You kind of get a better understanding, why truckers sometime gets tired behind the wheel. a specialy when you think you only should do another tripp as it´s alredy late.

It's not fun as others say but relaxing. You can also download from other websites car or bus mods if you feel bored with trucks. I already bought some map-DLCs and I'm going to buy another one soon because it gets a little boring with the small stock map.

1 its awesome
2 it has loads of steam mods you can enhance the game
3 hours of fun if you like driving
4 you can add your own music to the game
5 it has real live radio stations in the game

for some reason i find this game to be enjoyable, even though the AI cars are kinda like a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but i just love the game it's definitively relaxing that's for sure
it's also a great way to waste time i guess
