What is the best launch option? The first option or the DX9 version?

that would depend on your system . Like if you have a potato then its opengl etc etc .

The Dx9 option launch the game with Dx9 (obviously)
The Dx11 option launch the game with Dx11 (duh !)
The OpenGL option launch the game with OpenGL (why are we still wondering ?)
The Default option launch the game with nothing (or a failsafe Dx9 ???)

The first option, without any specificities, launch the game with the latest option.
If the game was run with Dx9 the last time, then it will be run again with Dx9 this time.
If the game was run with OpenGL the last time, then it will be run again with OpenGL this time.

NB: Currently, the last open beta has issues with DX11.

So, how did you launch the game last time ?

Just to clarify: The "Default" selection runs the game using whatever selection was used in the last run of the game.

Indeed.

The first option, without any specificities, launch the game with the latest option.

Two separates sentences, hence " The first option " is not the same than the " default / failsafe ", aka safe mode.

The first, default option, is not the same as the designated "Safe Mode" which is further down the list of options.

Geez ... My answer is invalid because I didn't explain the first choice as the first choice ?

Let me go further than that : you're using " Default " as in " choice done without the user input ", but the first choice is not called " Default " because there is a choice, a hidden one, whereas I'm using " default " as in " failure / no choice allowed ". Hello Merriam-Webster and Cambridge dictionnary.

As they said : potato / potato. Good night :steambored:

I usually just open it with DX.

SOOO if you have never manually chosen an option and just run the game as it was installed. What option will the game be using then??? DX9 I assume but maybe someone could confirm please

If your very first run of the game detected a DX9 compatible GPU it would have initialized and run using DX9. So next run without choosing would also default to DX9.

Thank you for clarifying that for me :cleanfloppy:
