I made my own 6 speed transmission shifter but all the trucks in ETS2 is 12-speed minimum.is there anyway to get a 6 speed truck?
thanks.

Level up a bit. Pretty sure all trucks have 6 speed transmission options you can choose.

Any 6 speed tra nny's I've seen in game aren't really worth having unless, you're doing light hauls locally.

Note: Had to place a space in the word due to the word filter. LOL Never knew, t r a n n y was a bad word.

Just define a splitter button, no real truck actually has 12 positions in their gear stick, but use splitter and/or range to allow more then one gear for each position. Heck, a lot of them used both and got 12 gears + 2 reverse into a total of only 4 actual stick positions.

but the problem is that my shifter is made by myself using xbox 360 controller, pencil and some cardboard so I have no additional buttons except from the gear lever itself, thats the reason I can't define a splitter button.

so what are you steering etc. with? just define a splitter there...

For stock trucks; at level 15 or higher, there's the Allison 4500 which is a 6 speed. Tho it's an automatic that has a torque converter, you can treat it like a manual. Final cruise rpm at 80-90 kph works out the same as the 12 speed. You'll have to adapt to taller gearing, acceleration won't be as quick, overall the allison works fine. The alternative is to look through transmission mods. Typically manuals go down to 9-10 speeds, some may offer less gears.

I also made diy steering wheel using a cartoon and the phone is the steering wheel(900steeringwheel app)so I don't have a physical buttons on the wheel and it's not comfortable to use touch buttons for this.the pedals is also from cartoon and I using mouse buttons (left, right clicks)to emulate the pedals and I don't have a clutch.

Some how I need to see a pic of your crazy setup! I guess as MosGuy says, just use the Allison would be simplest at that point.

Just like rl trucks you need bind a key (switch) for low/high gear change. First you use low 1-6, then press that button and you use high 1-6 (it will be 7-12). In game options - controller- activate your shifter then scroll down to shifter selection and use scs made 12 gear or download new pattern.

Well really, a splitter rather than range would be closer to real life, (if you aren't combining both), plus it means you can enable "fast split" (which is a real life thing) so you can flip between high/low without moving the stick. Anyway, by suggesting that, it just proved you haven't read the intervening posts about LoveTR's setup :steammocking:.

In rl is range by default, splitter is optional extra and including 16 ro 18 speed transmissions. Volvo had for years 3 gear transmissions in (N/F 10-16), it had range and splitter so 12 gears was available.
Why settle 6 gear transmissions when you have real shifter available?! and op have keyboard for that precious key, but only suggesting... sorry.

Yeah, Mentioned that range+splitter was/is used a fair amount IRL for 12 gear transmissions, but I'll maintain that if you are only going to use one of splitter/range for 12 gears, splitter is "better" than range only, mainly due to then getting to simulate fast splitting, plus it's common to not use all the low gears when accelerating, and it's easier/more natural to skip a gear with a splitter to me at least. It's what I do for the 12 speed boxes with my G25 shifter anyway.

Some of the modern trucks in the game (like the latest Scania's) don't even have a fully manual option IRL anyway, just sequential/automatic combinations.

Using splitter instead range isn't realistic and as I see it, you miss real trucking feeling. :lunar2019coolpig:
Volvo FH16 550hp was only FH16 that had manual option with reduced torque (ishift 2900Nm-> manual 2800Nm), but not anymore.
People often get confused when talking automated robotic transmissions (robot changes gears and uses clutch, no clutch pedal, example Volvo ishift) and real automatic transmissions with torque converter like Allison 4500 or Volvo Powertronic.
But this is too much overtopic, happy trucking!

As I mentioned on the posts above, I don't have real shifter for pc (g29/27 or something). I made my shifter by using Xbox controller and some cardboard so I don't have any Buttons on it. But I got an idea, use my 6 buttons mouse as a buttons for the shifter and tried it with range only and it works good but it's very very hard for me to change gears when using 12 gears with split button. I prefer to use 6 speed transmission because it's easier and funnier than the 12.

is this little realistic to use splitter without a split key(only have the even gears or only the odd gears) as 6 gears but you actually have 12 in game truck(2,4,6,8,10,12)?is someone do it?
