In the chassis file(s) you want to increase the value of "tank_size"
As well, upgrade your ecodriving skill to save as much as 35% fuel tank I think
As well, look out for trucks with 1,000 to 1,400 litres in capacity, the 400 litres are the worst
On a final note, engines with 350hv consume less fuel than those with 500 or more hv, so, here you go, choose between a common truck or a powerful one
Oh, as well try turning on "Realistic fuel consumption" in the game settings
Edit: The last time I tried it, my truck could go as much as twice the distance with a low capacity engine (hv or hc, I don't remember, but you get the point)
Nice trucking
Yup, if you drive economically and have the right kind of truck it can increase range dramatically. Or the opposite if you have the wrong kind of truck for a particular load (too heavy, basically) and you have to keep the pedal to metal all the time...and watch your range disappear.
Also, if you have "realistic" enabled, the skill points for economy do nothing.
I can drive 3000-3500 with 1400l fuel tank, depends on loads and part of the map I'm driving.
Correct, it's not a "global" thing that could be modded like that. It's an entry within each chassis file for every truck. To modify the value, you must edit the chassis definition file for each chassis that you want to alter.

All of those are sitting there, in the Workshop in front of your face. Fuel tanks have to do with chassis.
Maybe with solar panels and wind turbines on the roof
