Best steering wheel to buy for this game?
i'd like to buy a steering wheel for this game but have never played a game thats required one. What's the best option, and are there any guides that could teach me to set it up?

Best suggestion is Dont cheap out . I would start looking in the local used market because lots of ppl buy them and never use them and sell them . You could prob find a G27 (which imo are the best of the logitech wheels) or a G29 . IF you can find a new old stock G27 buy it , they come with everything included the gear shifter , the 29 doesnt its sold separate now . I would go look on youtube , there are a few guys that have review ALL wheels and do very good comparisons and you will get some good information there , both from reviewer and users who own some of them .

Check out Squirrel's Video. Very helpful when choosing your wheel and associated parts.

And for kicks, here's him testing out a 32:9 monitor sent to him by ASUS

Oh, keep in mind he's in the UK so prices & availability may be different from where you are.

Edit: . . . Me Wants THAT Monitor!!!

Read this guide and this guide[simracingpaddock.com].

If you want to play other driving/racing games besides ETS2 or ATS then seriously consider not buying a Logitech and instead look at a better quality model from Thrustmaster or Fanatec.

i don’t mind the keyboard, however it’s very finicky. i feel like a steering wheel and pedals would smooth the driving

You get what you pay for. Logitech used to make good stuff. Over the past 10 years or so, I haven't had Logitech stuff last long, especially the mouse purchases. My friend has a Logitech setup for racing, and I have Thrustmaster. It's easy to compare the quality in not only the build, but the performance. If you want your moneys worth, go Thrustmaster. A wheelstand is also a good idea. The Next Level Racing wheelstand is an incredible piece of eqipment, available on Amazon. It's $250. but was worth every penny. My entire setup is over $900, so it can get expensive fast.

If you aren't going extreme, the TMX Pro from Thrustmaster is a nice buy, since it was my first wheel I tried. I tried my friends Logitech before I bought, and glad I didn't buy it. I gave away my TMX over a year ago since I wanted a high end wheel, and it's still working great.

Compare and shop online. You can get better deals than going to a store. The nice thing about Thrustmaster is that you can buy the wheel to start with, and add parts to complete your setup over time. With the Logitech, it's cheaper, but will break just when you are having a moment of glory.

If you don't want to spend too much, then the Thrustmaster T150 is a pretty nice budget option. The pedals feel a bit cheap, though.

Never heard of that until just now. I've been saying that for at least a decade.

I'm on a pretty tight budget for gaming. Anyone have experience with the Thrustmaster VG Ferrari? Or the T80 Ferrari or Ferrari 458 spider?
Foxman Jun 27, 2019 @ 3:47pm
I would not recommend the T80 or the 458 as they both have very limited rotation (240 and 270 degrees respectively) and use bungie centering which means no force feedback at all and terrible in terms of feel.

If buying new, the TMX/T150 is the only one I would recommend for entry level. If buying 2nd hand, consider Logitech G25/27 or the Driving Force GT.

Otherwise, save you money and get something much better later.
