Can't start game with Windows anti ransomware on

Make a folder called "Euro Truck Simulator 2" (exactly as shown) in the Documents folder.

Go into your Windows Defender settings for the Anti-Ransomware part.

You'll want to add an exception for that ETS2 folder.

That should help, but I've not personally messed with those settings myself. So I can't really help further than that other than to add the folder to the exception list of checking. Its likely the game is just being blocked from creating the folders it needs to.

it wil only cause issues if you have a cracked game .. you can make an exception for either the File or the folder then you wont have issues. I suggest you buy the game :)

I wouldn't doubt someone has bought it. Cracking a legitimately acquired Steam game simply so you don't need Steam running is just convenient and saves resources.

Aha, Well I don't see why I want to make an exception, as no other games have issues like this. ETS must be doing something that I don't want it to do.

It takes one look at my profile indeed. I get very upset with all this lame excuses for bad developers. I'm developing my own games, they do not have such issues. I just want to know WHY the windows alert is triggered, what does ETS need that triggers it.
