That isn't bad programming. Bad controller, perhaps. Bad decision to give mouse control to anything other than the mouse, perhaps.
You can turn that (mouse control) off in Options --> Controls and all the way at the bottom, in the Alternate Mouse Cursor Controller section, hit the RESET button for controller selection.
Chose wheel as my controller, tried to adjust setting to said wheel with my mouse. Mouse goes nuts. Have to Ctrl=Alt-Del to get out of the badly coded game.
So it was bad coding for SCS to allow your input device to be used as a mouse? Or bad decision on your part to assign said control to your wheel?
Other than clicking that button, I'm not sure which line on the controls.sii needs to be changed to make that stop. I've never told the game to give mouse control to any other controller before.
The game will allow you to use a controller, regardless of whether it's a wheel or gamepad, as mouse if you choose. Some wheels have an analog control which could be used to move a mouse; most wheels don't. Just say "No" when it asks if you would like give mouse control to your wheel.
Right! Got it. The mistake was at the very beginning were I pressed something like continue, which turned my wheel into a mouse. I see it now. I thought you were talking about the screen were you chose your control method, thus the confusion.
Sorry. I guess your programming isn't all that bad after all. ;)
