Braking hard = Engine stops?
While discovering the non regular routes it happens that I drive a few kph over the speed limit and when I brake hard for a few seconds straight the engine cuts out.

Just curious to know if this happen to anyone else too.

I also a few times have need to restart the engine after a brake hard.
- and it was not because I was to slow on the cluch pedal, because I use automatic gear.

I've had it happen too on occasion, can't precisely remember the causes but pretty sure it is because the revs are dropping faster than the transmission can downshift (in automatic) so they get low enough to stall the engine out (much easier to do without a trailer and with braking intensity turned way up)

Another new feature -.- Would be nice if all of these little details are listed somewhere (in clear words) instead to make players feel dumb : P

@Everyone: Thanks for your input!

@Hiro Protagonist: I tried different settings with Auto retarder and Auto engine brake and when I disabled Auto retarder the engine did not stop so you are right.
I wonder if this is a correct behaviour or a "feature"

The odd thing is that even if I have the Auto retarder option disabled the engine uses the retarder to help slow down the truck when I'm using the cruise control to slow down, i.e. decreasing the kph set.

That's normal and is controlled by the setting 'smart cruise control' in the gameplay options.

It's not a new thing comes with the 1.35 update.. it also could happen in the 1.34 game.

Well, I did not change my driving style all a sudden, but many odd things started to happen -.-

- Start to accelerate and suddenly truck slam right or left
- Brake downhill and jack knife
- Hard braking and stall engine
- Stop somewhere and cannot move anymore
- Set a route to cover grey roads and waypoints vanish
- Turn on wipers and need another button to turn them off
- Random moments with 30 FPS on menu only with Dx11

It is a bit too much all at once, but I'm sure I will handle them : D Vanilla profile but on keyboard (maybe is this the main cause). Sorry if I added extra things ; )

SCS finally added that the truck can have the drive wheels spinning, i.e. burn out.
If you turn up the balance of the truck you can do some very nice drifting too.

The brake balance seem to have changed somehow.

If you have Auto retarder enabled this happens because of reasons Hiro Protagonist explained.

Yeah now when you mention it, that happened to me too the other day. I was pressing the wrong button (brake) instead of accelerate. It seemed like the brake was stuck, I had to reverse to be able to get going again. Perhaps a bug.

Nothing I have noticed, seem like you have found a bug with the navigator.

SCS finally added an option to switch between the speeds and also included a 3rd rate.
If you look in your controls you will find as of 1.35 there's a key to be bound for turning the rate of the wipers down and subsequently turn them off.

SCS clearly stated that the DX11 is still a experimental thing.
I have an issue with the game taking for ever to launch and the focus is lost to the desktop.
But when I'm in the game it feels much smoother.
Some areas in Italy are still very jerky and needs to be optimized both in DX9 and DX11.
Give them time and SCS will sort these things out :)

This happened again although I'm now over with grey roads ; )

I was in Ancona Cantiere Navale (drop point) and was going to Ancona Exomar (pick up point). As usual I set a nav point to my garage (nearby Cantiere Navale) where to refuel, and another one to workshop (nearby Exomar) where to repair. When I finally was approaching Exomar, I noticed that were no detour to the nearby workshop -.-

Most likely when I entered my garage, Route Advisor performed a complete reset. Before was not happening to reset nav points too. Must be careful until this one won't get fixed, if ever ^^'

On the good side, if one leaves a trailer during a job somewhere, now Route Advisor will full reset and try to send one back to the trailer. Before was not minding that trailer was left "behind" : D

Weird! I'l try to recreate this from your description.
[edit]
Yeah, the Navigator resets the custom way points when repairing or interacting with the garage.

haha! Yeah! I didn't reflect over that when I've played the game lately but as you say, that did change :)

Better if I tell you one more thing then, it happens while on an External Contract (don't know about other types).

Most likely the two things are two faces of the same coin ^^' If I mind that the new feature that lead you back to your trailer is the main one, then it is sort of acceptable that nav points are cleared (acceptable for a newbie I think).

Unfortunately, while taking an External Contract, you are in the exact same situation, go back to your trailer, then this explains why I lost my nav points -.- If it was a Freight Market job then I had still to accept the job so I was not in that situation yet and then no issue at all, most likely.

Conclusion. To fix this need to remove the new feature? No way, right ^^' Issue remain.
