What is it with roundabouts in France?
In real life you have right of way when driving on a roundabout in France. I mean when you are already ON it, not when you are approaching it and driving ONTO it.

In ETS2, it seems that every roundabout in France is coded by SCS to make it function like the total opposite. Everybody rams their vehicle straight onto the roundabout right in front of you, even just when you are 1 or 2 metres away from them. AI traffic does not slow down at all when approaching a roundabout, but rather just behaves as if they have right of way.

I am sure this is another attempt at humour by SCS, apparently they think this is a reflection of traffic and motorist behaviour in France.

Well it's not normal and it does not happen more in France than in other countries. From my own driving experience. whether it was in Spain, Bulgaria, Denmark or whatever, I had no issues and I don't remember having issues with drivers not yielding when approaching roundabouts in France.

Why can SCS not leave this nonsense out of the game?

Thats all roundabouts in the game .

Hmm, not my experience. If I'm in the roundabout I don't have to worry about entering traffic.

Two lane roundabouts are tricky though, in those you gotta watch out...

Yup, I nearly had a idiot in a truck hit me when I was traversing a two lane roundabout... I told him to "BACK OFF"! I had a huge trailer with a Dozer Crawl on it and apparently the stupid bugger in the truck couldn't see me .... :steamfacepalm:

I try to time my rest stops so I am mostly driving at night and sleeping during the day in-game. Reduces traffic which is quite dangerous, especially in 2-lane roundabouts. The AI seems suicidal in those, it's as if it *wants* to hit you.

It's probably a coincidence, but at times it feels like if the AI thinks you haven't had a crash in too long the AI drivers will intentionally try to create crashes so you get fined. Roundabouts are an easy place to make that happen.

Are you using blinkers correctly on roundabout? It let's know AI what you are planning to do. I have no such an experience in game (I;m not using any map mods though). They are kindly stop before roundabout when I'm on it... Are you driving fast? Which lane are you taking? With a truck it is quite a good practice to take outer line - due to size of vehicle, and lack of visibility on the right hand of truck. And use only right blinker (left in UK), when you are leaving roundabout, not earlier!!
And of course, drive slow through it, and watch everything around... That's from my experience with game. Hopefully it might help somehow.

In my experience you actually don't want to use blinkers (I mean in game). If I just live my life inside the roundabout and exit when I need to without warning of anything, the AI does understand that I have the right of way. Whenever I use my right blinker to warn that I am moving to the outer ring and to exit, that's when incoming traffic just enters the roundabout without giving a damn about me.

Some of the roundabouts in france seems to be coded as regular roads, your GPS will tell you if you have the voice direction on, as it doesen't talk about the roundabout, it just goes on as though it's not there.

Personally I don't often have issues with AI drivers, and when I do it's always a bus.
