Explanation of some signs on trucks?
I understand about most signs seen on the front or back of trucks, including TIR, L,S,4,5,6,A, ADR, etc. but some other signs that the internet has no awnser for has been bugging me recently. for example, i see a lot of trucks with TIR signs except they have string/wire crossing them, and i dont know what they mean. also, i see big green boxes on trailers with 'a' or 'd' marked on them. can anyone help? thx :)

a TIR sign with a string infront of it means the truck doesn't run under TIR rules at that moment, as if it had no TIR sign. The a or d in the green box is for Italy so that trucks with perishable goods can drive during the sunday/national holiday truckbans

International truck driver myself. I know the a and d are for Italy and only know they are for perishable goods to be transported during the regular truck bans but I don't know the details of it. Someone from Italy will be better in explaining it. TIR signs barely get used nowadays though with most of europe's borders being open without the need to declare goods in each country you pass through
