Next-Gen Scania R/S Dash Indicators Explanation
Does anybody know of a website or forum post that explains what all of the indicators on the dash of the next-gen Scania trucks mean? I found Scania's official quick guide, but it doesn't get too detailed and I can't seem to find a PDF copy of the truck's actual manual.

Yellow one that appears is low air pressure and the green light is auxillary brake or maybe retarder.

Point out the ones you're unsure of and we can tell you.

The main one that I was concerned about that always pops up is the yellow light at the top that Guil said was low air pressure.

Can that one be safely ignored or does it mean that I'm doing something wrong? I've noticed that my tire wear seems a little quick. Is this what's contributing to that?

And yeah, the other is the green light when I have cruise control enabled and I'm travelling down an incline, but I kind of guessed that one was related to breaks or the retarded on my own.

If a green light comes on with cruise control while going down a hill, that is the retarder coming on to slow you down to the set speed so you don't speed up.

As for the low air pressure, if you have air pressure simulation turned on, then yes. It's a big deal. When you start the truck, you're usually at 0 pressure. You need to build up pressure to release the brakes. In the case of low air pressure, I think anyhting below 60 turns on the warning. So idle or keep rolling without using the pedal brake hard(more pressure on pedal = more air used).

It looks like I don't have the air brakes simulation turned on which is just as well because I play this mostly for fun and that kind of sounds like a pain. Different strokes.

Speaking of the retarder: is there any way to disable it? In the older trucks, you can coast down inclines while using cruise control, but you can't seem to do that with these new Scanias.

Choose a gearbox without a retarder. You can also try adjusting the speed sensitivity for the cruise control. It will allow the truck to go X km/h over what you set it too before the retarder/brakes kicks in. X could be anything you want. 2 km/h was the sweet spot for me. I had to set it in the config file in my documents folder since the in game options where 1,5 or 10 km/h sensitivity if I'm not mistaken. Recommend you try yourself!
