What is it with these AI driver profiles?

Another day, another thing that is wrong with ETS2.

You want to build a nice logistics imperium with garages everywhere, basically aiming to have every garage in all available cities.

You want to populate them with the drivers you can hire.

Only problem is that SCS chose to:

- Give the drivers funny names (Donald T., Boris B., Martina N., Jay Z., Tina T., Umberto E., Scarlett J., etc.)

Haha. Funny. Ok, when can we expect Barack O., Hillary C., Ayrton S., Rudy G., Saddam H., Elton J., 50 C., Lionel M. and Cristiano R. ?

- Create very few drivers with Italian and French names, even though I have dozens of slots to fill in these countries. Now I have to put all the Jiri's and Michals there.

- Create like 50 or more drivers with Czech names. I know you are from that country, that doesn't mean most of my drivers need to be Czech. More Polish or even Romanian though would be realistic, as many truck drivers are now from Poland and Romania.
The Czech Republic is however a small country and not known for supplying the rest of Europe with truckers.

- Create no drivers with Finnish, Estonian, Latvian or Lithuanian names, even though these countries have a relatively high amount of garages. Again, I now need to fill these slots there with all sort of Czech and Polish folks.

- Create all sorts of drivers with lunatic / (un)funny pictures, people that you wouldn't entrust with a 200k truck, let alone the cargo. People that are in their appearance in no way representative or reminiscent of a truck driver, man or woman. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Bottom line is I want realistic driver profiles with normal pictures and names from each country in the game. I don't want to put a Pavel or Jiri in Norway or Sicily because there are not enough drivers called Thor or Gianni. It's not realistic, even though I know many truck drivers are employed across borders now in the EU.

You need a hobby .How about you create what you want ? All this time on your hands could be put to good use i would think .

this is a videogame, not real life
the developers just having some fun with the names
if you want a brutal realstic truck driving simulator then drive a real truck
i think you would see this game is not a direct one to one simulation of driving and owning a cargo company

well most of the drivers ( I would say around 90%) are real people and they are from SCS Software. So that why, there are so many Pavel, Jiri, Martin names in the game. :)

As Fetus suggested, became a modder and do it yourself, it is your best option.

What do you will do the moment you will find that there are about 300 available drivers for more than twice available slots? Let me guess... Oh yes, quit the game ; )

Create a mod based on original driver's name. Extract locale.scs using SXC extractor and edit "/locale/en_gb/driver_names.sii". Modify and gives any name you like then repack as mod. Search the net on how to extract *.scs game data file using SXC tool and creating a mod.

To be brutally honest, in all the 6+ years I've owned ets2 from disc to steam. I've never once paid any attention to names or pictures of AI drivers. The only thing I do pay attention to is their stats. End of..
