Real scale maps?
Could anybody tell me a few real scale maps, or huge maps?
I'm really bored on Promods. Its good and colorfull stuff like that :D but its too short for me :) You pick up the cargo, go to highway and you drive 20 minute on highway when realise, oh man almost done. What? The world, time elapsing its too fast for me. I used to play on Harsh Russia Map, it was a good map! Real time, real distances. You could feel the map! Unfortunatelly, this map goes mad, cuz mister Goba is.....if you are not russian, each updates contains some pranks placed on maps. For example: you fall out from the map, or you cant go forward cuz this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ railway :D So, do you know some realistic maps? By the way, Promods its too heavy for my PC, when i played on it, my Pc loaded within 9 minutes! Everytime when I played! Some cities were lagging for me...Pls tell me some big maps, or would be realistic. (TSM is not a good opinion :D )

There is a Hungary 1:1 map project out there somewhere. Try to look it up on the SCS Map mod forum.

I have no idea about the requirements, but if your PC is NINE minutes to load PM, if at all possible, it's really time to upgrade. Happy trucking. :hittheroad:

Yep, I agree. I use promods and it takes me about 1 or 2 mins to load, mind you never timed it.
If you tried to load a 1.1 map can you imagine the amount of detail required? Even more so in cities, never mind countryside. Think what that will do your frame rates.
If you searched forums there are thousands of posts about fps drop in cities.
Time to bite bullet guy/gal and get a new pooter I reckon although I recognise not everyone has the budget but if you have a pc at least you can replace it a bit at a time unless it is really old.

It would end up like Flight Sim X and it's 1:1 scale world. Just nothing but endless, repeating, autogen scenery for hour after hour after hour.

The Hungary map is the largest scale map I know of for ETS2 at 1:3. Not sure it will be what you want as deliveries will take about the same amount of RL time your just going shorter distances within the game. The scale does make for a more realistic experiance.

Your right, every polygon in France DLC or ATS, with promods need CPU and GPU horsepower.

1:1 world might as well become truck driver get paid for it

Thanks for everyone. :) I' ll upgrade my PC as soon as possible. Btw, Harsh Russian map was very well, i had 17-20 FPS even in villages too, and cities (Vladivostok, Belogorosk, Khavarosk)

Wow, you are fast! I've must get more speed somehow to drive over 3000km in 20min.
If promods map takes too long to load and you want a lot bigger!?
In ATS there is Dalton hiway map for game 1.4 and when I drive 8,5h in one day, I get on short job done. It was great, but do that in every day without getting paid, no thanks.

Edit: in ProMods just finished 2800km job in 2h10min and 110km/h was in CC. Tallinn-Marseille isn't even close to longest job

You must be speeding like mad or warping or don't know how to select jobs to pick up. With the base map and/or the big mod maps, longer routes can easily take 2-4 hours OR MORE if driven as in real life and paying attention to sleep schedules and such. If you need routes longer than FOUR HOURS, I suggest you get an additional hobby to expand your experiences.
personally, this is just me and starting out, from my experiance there is so much of europe that gets missed in ETS, an 8.5 hour drive from rotterdam to straussborg is alot more then just blasting down the A6 and A4 in 1.5 hours, there's castles, rest stops, points of interest, signs, tiny details that the game really is missing. ive been to europe. passing through belgium in real life is nothing you can really compair, it has deep valleys and big rivers. of which the developers forgot or neglected to include. (given this is an awesome game otherwise) but there is no comparison when you have been there long enough to notice these details.
with some afterthrought applied im going into this game with a preconcieved expectation based on real life experiance treking through europe for weeks.
i get it, it's a game... a really awesome, fun and relaxing game. for some of us though, it can seem like something is really missing. it's like moxie without the fizz! (<--- orange soda for those who have never seen it)
just my two euros on the subject matter :) the little details are super important and often dont go unnoticed. if players want a diehard experiance who can argue it? personally it wouldnt bother me at all to do an 8 hour drive with rest stops and regular refueling.

deep valleys and big rivers in belgium? ofcourse... belgium is famous for its deep valleys and big rivers... here in austria we are famous for our many coastal resorts and natural flatland landscapes....

There are a couple of 1:1 or 1:2 scale projects still in progress (Rotterdam, Carte France et cetera), because they present a lot of challenges, the amount of work being one of them of course.

I've recently come upon this one: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=246187

It's a regional map project of Heilbronn, an area in southern Germany and it's an absolute blast to drive on. I think you get a whole other experience and feeling, especially when motorways don't make sudden sharp turns just shy of 90 degrees :P I've always hated that in the 1:20 scale.

Quite on the contrary. Yes, the Coast To Coast map mod for ATS is very much that though. Repeating generic scenery. But when modders go all out ham on their mapping, applying details from Google street view and using the existing assets to the best of their ability, you get something close to the real thing.

Sometimes the real world can be generic and boring too, but it's filled with so much stuff that it's a lot of work to replicate. If I had the choice, I'd like to see more regional map projects, not a gargantuan 1:1 country map that will never be finished in a quality, that regional areas can be.

https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=255414 is also a nice small province close to reality in Poland, but it seems like the freight market is running out of jobs, and a lack of road signs (if you drive without GPS like myself). But it's in beta yet, chances are that things are going to be addressed, quality modding is a lot of work.

It's hard to find "good" maps close to 1:1 scale.

why couldn't they do state by state as 1:1 and just load maps in just use weighing stations as stopping points and as you weigh your load just load in the next state. would make it more enjoyable and in VR you would spend so much time in game just looking around.

Because at 1:1 we wouldn't have one state yet. Also, nobody wants to drive for 18 hours in a game for one delivery.
Silverbiker Nov 15, 2018 @ 4:05am
Using current promobds map just did a heavy (62ton digger) delivery. Cant remember exact details but took me 3 days driving 4 hours day (real time)
Also stuck to correct speed for load, in this case 60kph
Plenty longer deliveries I should imagine as:
a. I dont have slider set to long distance
b. I havent maxxed out long delivery bonus
Probably impacts on long distance stuff
