I have no idea about the requirements, but if your PC is NINE minutes to load PM, if at all possible, it's really time to upgrade. Happy trucking.
If you tried to load a 1.1 map can you imagine the amount of detail required? Even more so in cities, never mind countryside. Think what that will do your frame rates.
If you searched forums there are thousands of posts about fps drop in cities.
Time to bite bullet guy/gal and get a new pooter I reckon although I recognise not everyone has the budget but if you have a pc at least you can replace it a bit at a time unless it is really old.
Your right, every polygon in France DLC or ATS, with promods need CPU and GPU horsepower.
1:1 world might as well become truck driver get paid for it
If promods map takes too long to load and you want a lot bigger!?
In ATS there is Dalton hiway map for game 1.4 and when I drive 8,5h in one day, I get on short job done. It was great, but do that in every day without getting paid, no thanks.
Edit: in ProMods just finished 2800km job in 2h10min and 110km/h was in CC. Tallinn-Marseille isn't even close to longest job
with some afterthrought applied im going into this game with a preconcieved expectation based on real life experiance treking through europe for weeks.
i get it, it's a game... a really awesome, fun and relaxing game. for some of us though, it can seem like something is really missing. it's like moxie without the fizz! (<--- orange soda for those who have never seen it)
just my two euros on the subject matter :) the little details are super important and often dont go unnoticed. if players want a diehard experiance who can argue it? personally it wouldnt bother me at all to do an 8 hour drive with rest stops and regular refueling.
I've recently come upon this one: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=246187
It's a regional map project of Heilbronn, an area in southern Germany and it's an absolute blast to drive on. I think you get a whole other experience and feeling, especially when motorways don't make sudden sharp turns just shy of 90 degrees :P I've always hated that in the 1:20 scale.
Quite on the contrary. Yes, the Coast To Coast map mod for ATS is very much that though. Repeating generic scenery. But when modders go all out ham on their mapping, applying details from Google street view and using the existing assets to the best of their ability, you get something close to the real thing.
Sometimes the real world can be generic and boring too, but it's filled with so much stuff that it's a lot of work to replicate. If I had the choice, I'd like to see more regional map projects, not a gargantuan 1:1 country map that will never be finished in a quality, that regional areas can be.
https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=255414 is also a nice small province close to reality in Poland, but it seems like the freight market is running out of jobs, and a lack of road signs (if you drive without GPS like myself). But it's in beta yet, chances are that things are going to be addressed, quality modding is a lot of work.
It's hard to find "good" maps close to 1:1 scale.
Because at 1:1 we wouldn't have one state yet. Also, nobody wants to drive for 18 hours in a game for one delivery.
Also stuck to correct speed for load, in this case 60kph
Plenty longer deliveries I should imagine as:
a. I dont have slider set to long distance
b. I havent maxxed out long delivery bonus
Probably impacts on long distance stuff
