Scania 12+2 transmission, I'm absolutely confused.
So I got a wheel just recently, a few days ago so I'm still learning, I was driving with a 8 gear transmission at start then upgraded to 12, no biggie I just used a button on the wheel to switch from 6th to 7th gear. Now I upgraded to 12+2 without thinking and I'm confused, I can not work it out at all and couldn't find any tutorials on the internet. Could someone explain how to use it?

I'm using a logitech g29/g920 shifter with 6 gears + a reverse gear.

You need to setup second button for your gearbox. It is not defined by default. Then it works as in real truck. You use it like that:
One button split gears. So, when you shift you have 2,4,6... Each gear can be then splitted to have 1,3,5. Then, you are changing range (second button) - high gearbox. And you have there 8,10,12 and each can be splitted by button 1. This gives you 3 shift possitions with 12 gears. There is additional space for two crowler gears (like in scania 12+2) and reverse

I do not like it. But I always forgot which button need to swtch. But I got 12 transmission and feel well.
What do you have your gear box set up as? I can step you through the real Scania 12+2 transmission and it's shift pattern but you'll need to choose that option in your shift patterns. Did you choose Scania 12+2 as your shift pattern?

Yeah and I chose the third option of gear shifting, the one for "advanced drivers" (forgot what it's called)
Ok, toggle 1 is your splitter and toggle 2 will be your range. The layout of Scania 12+2 is: upper left R1 & R2, lower left is your crawler gears C1 & C2, upper middle has no gear. lower middle is 1 low, 1 high, 4 low and 4 high. upper right is 2 low, 2 high, 5 low and 5 high. lower right is 3 low, 3 high, 6 low and 6 high.
So the way you would go through your gears from lowest to highest would be: lower left(C1), hit your toggle 1 (splitter) to go into C2. Clutch in hit toggle 1 and shift into lower middle putting you in 1L, hit toggle 1 which will shift you into 1H. Clutch in hit toggle 1 and shift into upper right putting you in 2L, hit toggle 1 which shifts you into 2H. Clutch in hit toggle 1 and shift into lower right putting you 3L, hit toggle 1 which will shift you into 3H.
Now you clutch in, hit toggle 1 and toggle 2 (range) and shift into lower middle putting you in 4L, hit toggle 1 which shifts you into 4H. Clutch in hit toggle 1 and shift into upper right putting you in 5L, hit toggle 1 which shifts you into 5H. Clutch in hit toggle 1 and shift into lower right putting you in 6L, hit toggle 1 which shifts you into 6H your final gear.
Downshiffting of course just goes in reverse order. You can skip shifting from low to high and skip gears totally depending on your load. For heavy loads I usually go 2L, 3L, 4L, 5L, 5H, 6L, 6H or something like that. Your starting gear and gears you decide to skip will be whatever you find works for you. It sounds kind of confusing at first but after you get used to it it becomes second nature.
Hope I explained it in a way that makes sense and hope it helps you get a feel for how it really. Have fun and happy driving :steamhappy:

At a first read this totally blew my mind, but I will read through it a couple times, even write it down and try it once I'm in game. Thanks for your time and explanation bro!

Hehe, yea it's kind of hard to take in at first. It's less complicated when you're actually driving a real truck because your splitter and range buttons are right there on your gear shift.

The one other thing I didn't really get into because I didn't want to confuse you more right at first, but in a real truck you have a fast split when shifting gears from low to high or high to low. You just hit your splitter and let up off the gas and it will split the gear from low to high or high to low. You can set up ETS2 to do this as well and it may be something you want to add later or even add now if you wanted.
In your options right below where you chose scania 12+2 there is the Shift Layout Behavior. You already said you had it on advanced and that's where it needs to be. Then right below that option you'll see "Shifter Fast Split (Advanced Only)", you would select the option "Clutch or Throttle". Now all you need to do on your gear splits is either let up off the gas or clutch in.
This work that way in us trucks. Most of european requiees pressing the clutch for splitter to work

Ah, ok. I'm used to an Eaton Fuller 18 speed. I wasn't sure if European trucks did the same on that or not.

I've had a video tutorial on You Tube for a while now. Also have a guide for all the transmissions posted under guides.
