Map alignment, well, go on the map screen and take a peak. Flat lays out the M map flat. One of the options make it like you're spinning a globe.

it's because of this the nights in the north part is more brighter than south?
The game takes place during the summer, more specifically at the summer solstice. At the equator, the day and the night are equal and both have 12 hours. The further north you travel, the longer the day times are, and the shorter the nights. And past the arctic circle, the sun does not set.
Also, day/night are very much an east/west thing. This is why the international date line in vertical, not horizontal.
