New Scania S or Scania R
Which one of the two do you prefer, and why?

Scania S because it seems to be more aerodynamic with a trailer. IRL the R is offered with manual whereas the S is auto only.

Scania S. At first simply because i liked it a tad more from a the visual appearance. A few deliveries later also because the hightened position, in some cases, makes the difference between looking at the back of a sign or beeing able to peek over it and see incoming traffic from the side.

I got the r type and its amazing costed me over 300k eu tho when u max out the s type its probably more or less the same as r i guess...That new Scania is soo darn good that i gave my volvo FH 750 to my ai driver :)

I kind of like the stubby look of the R type. So I went and purchased both to use depending on what I feeling like hauling. I built the R to be better for pulling the heavy cargo pack stuff and built the S for when I just want to pull the lighter stuff.
Guys, apart from height what is the difference?

IRL the S has a flat floor as well. In game just the height really.

I dont like the design of the new Scania. Its like more looking as a DAF XF and that think i was not good. Why are the Front of this truck so flat? Mercedes and Magnum has more Desgin as scania.

To get around in tighter places.

In-game S has a flat floor, and R has the usual (floor is deeper under your seat than in the center).

I like S-series, because normal cab has good aerodynamic match for trailers. Also I like higher position. That said, I would gladly play with R-series if it had manual transmission like what you can get in real. But as all trucks in the game are implied to be automatic (i.e. animation of R-N-D selector doesn't let me pretend it's manual while using mods for manual transmission), I chose S-series. Though I've only driven the new Scanias in beta version of the update (with a test profile), because I am waiting for Promods compatibility and still playing 1.28.

Did you know that there's a mod which "copies" the SCS Scania model into 1.28 as a mod truck?
It's exactly the same and it works just like it does in 1.30 ;)

No, Mike, I didn't. Thanks for the tip, but I already decided to do some quickjobs for a while (I started a new profile recently). This way I will drive other brands and won't miss them that much when I buy the new Scania.

edit: oh, wait, "works just like it does in 1.30", that means quickjobs too. I might try it.
