VR rubber banding
I used to be able to play the game in VR wih no problem at all. I haven't played for a while and now when I try and play it I get some seriously bad rubber banding from the truck. Everything else around me seems to flow without issue but my truck is lurching forward violently leaving me feeling pretty sick.

I'm running an i7 3770 with 16GB RAM and a GTX 1070 so I don't think it's an issue with me system unable to keep up. I can play Projects Cars and Assetto Corsa in VR with no issue yet ETS2 has this huge set back.
Has anybody encountered this and found a solution?

This is your network caton,

You can use accelerators, or VPN software, to stabilize your network environment

Really? I'm not sure how my network connection (which is not bad) would cause such a problem in a single player game. I didn't have this problem when my network speed was a fraction of its current speed. I could always test is by firing up the game and then pulling the network cable from my machine and seeing how it goes.

The multiplayer games, you will Caton?

This is happening in single player. I'm running no mods at all other than the latest beta version with VR support. Just driving along is giving me really bad rubber banding. This is not network lag, it is a rendering issue.

Ok, so this thread is old, but in case you haven't found a solution, it is caused by the game switching between 90 and 45 fps constantly. I suspect there is a timer in ETS2 and ATS that don't like the fps fluctuating like that and that gives the rubberband effect. The only way to get rid of it, is to force Asyncronous Space Warp (ASW) mode ON for these games. If you use Rift you can use the Oculus Tray Tool to do this. If you are on Vive, I don't know how to do it, not even sure if Vive have ASW.

Thanks for that. I haven't played it for a while but I'll look at this next time I do.

are you implying there is no solution for vive users at all?

SteamVR have motion smoothing now so just enable that and force fps to half.
