I think it helps
normally all options, including 64bit, come up when starting the game... and i have them all available and all work fine in my Win10 pro...
It doesn't. If you click on the "launch 32bit" option it will launch 32bit even with -64bit in the launch parameters.
Thats not for all Players some Players start the Game in 32bit they make it manualy in 64bit

You need to add -64bit to the launch options of the game.

2014 ... People in that very topic are asking about adding a launcher, hence the 64bit parameter was needed. Not anymore.
Another way.
With this you can start the Steam version of ETS2 directly without having to go through the Steam menu.
With Windows Explorer navigate to the following path: C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Euro Truck Simulator 2 \ bin \ win_x64 \ eurotrucks2.exe
(may be elsewhere, depending on where you have ETS2 installed.)
Then right-click on the file "eurotrucks2.exe" and then "send to" the desktop. This will give you a shortcut on the desktop. Click with right mouse button and on properties.
Under target is then e.g. Enter the following: "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Euro Truck Simulator 2 \ bin \ win_x64 \ eurotrucks2.exe"
Then we hang a little behind it so it looks like: "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ Euro Truck Simulator 2 \ bin \ win_x64 \ eurotrucks2.exe" -nointro -64bit
This will then start the game z.b. in 64 bit mode (from 1.17) and without the start logo.
I appreciate you taking the time to respond. To all the previous comments, yes I do know I can launch it in 64bit via steam etc
However it simply wont even load after trying to launch it, manually or steam.
When I do as INTRUDERVS140 suggests, I get an Error message saying : "The Code Execution cannot proceed because Steam_api64dll was not found."
As you can see, I have no idea what that is, and am not very technically minded or computer savvy.
Still, if you could offer any help, it would be much appreciated.
Here can you Download the steam_api64dll
http://de.dllworld.org/steam-api64-dll/
https://dllkit.com/de/dll/steam_api64_dll?item=f4995_steam_api64.dll&htype=&cid=dll.GE.001_f4995_steam_api64.dll&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIp-vCypTc1wIVThbTCh1BYAmDEAAYASAAEgIoOvD_BwE
when a "missing dll" message comes up, there´s usually a problem involved that is rarely solved by just downloading the dll. Speaks for a flawed install over all..
