Roads too dark at night
It is normal that highways, main roads are too damn dark at night? Around 22:00h aproz even when there are lights I can't ♥♥♥♥ing see, I drive most of the nigh time with high beams. Or is probably my crappy laptop which in which I play the game low/medium resolutions XD ?

Btw trying to see both sides at an intersection or what's behind me is almost immposible, I can't see shhh

Yes, that's normal. I don't find the issue though. You don't need to see that far in front of you if you go the speed limit. :P Though it does make parking more challenging.

Try to increase your game brightness in setting.

You should try driving where I live, no street lights, nothing. It's pitch black except when there is a full moon out.

I heard people gripe that it wasn't dark enough.
MAKE UP MY MIND!

A couple of years ago some complained the it was too dark at night so when SCS improved the skybox they made it lighter at night. I have seen complaints since then that it is not dark enough. I noticed recently that the nights have become darker. I grew up in a rural area and it does get very dark at night especially if the moon is not out.

Yes it's dark, and to be honest I always drive with the main beam on, I know, I know, not good, but you don't get penalised for it, just the odd driver flashing you...Oh and no I would do that for real lol

oops! 'Wouldn't do that for real'

I mean, for the quality of roads and highways in europe I thought there was a lot more illumination or something, I live in Central America and even our crappy highways seems to have better illumination XD jk, but yes, I mean in the game are a lot of highways without any light and I was surprised.

Just increase the brigthness in options>graphics>brithness, that will make the game brighter :P

I drive a car in real life and i used to drive at midnight and after midnight. I can tell you that the roads in real life are darker than in ETS2 at its current state. In real life i had to use the high beam when there were no other vehicles in front of me. When there were vehicles in front of me i just followed their rear lights. Their rear lights were the only things that let me know where the road was going.

Me and my mom had an accident once in real life because the car in front of me had no rear lights, we did not see the car , it's totally black. He was taking a u-turn without giving a signal. My mom was doing 100 kmh. My mom saw the car when it was only 5-10 meters away. It was impossible to brake so she turned very hard to avoid the car but the other car behind us hit us instead. Luckily we were not hurt, but we sold our car after the accident.

My best advice is, drive slowly in the dark. And always use the high beam whenever you can (no vihicles in front of you).

In that case, sleep during night and drive during the day :D

Oh jeez... I'm really sorry to hear, hope you and your mom did not get hurt :(

One of the things i wish they would sort out in ets2 is the night time.

IRL... Scottish highlands at night, east or west, you can't see 3 feet in front of you, literally.!!
Yet in ets2, driving at night in Scotland is almost like driving in daylight.

Rainy days are darker here irl.

Aye, and no cats eyes on the road -unless it's dead! :steammocking: Though you can get away with driving most of the time with full beam, cause the roads are dead. + you don't have to deal with city bampots!! Pity we only holiday 4 weeks a year in Lairg :steambored:
