Moving ETS 2 to a second monitor?

Hello, I have recently really gotten into the game and have gone as so far to mount a TV to my wall and hooked it up to my pc so I can play the game from bed w/ an xbox controller. Problem is, I cannot move the game window to another monitor. I tried going into windowed mode, and moving the game, but that didnt help. It just moved itself back to my primary monitor. Please help so I can enjoy myself!

Update: have not played for a while, came back to 1.50 after upgrading my PC and reinstalling Windows 10 to find out the .cfg thing does not work anymore. No matter what I put in the config the game still started on Primary monitor.

So in an act of desperation I tried the ol' Windows key combo Win+Shift+→ and Win+Shift+← and it actually worked while in Fullscreen (it didn't before). So there you go.



Edit: note that changing any of the Graphics settings will put the game back on primary monitor but just switch it back with the key combo.

i have tried all methods and annoyingly the arrow key method does seem to work for me :(

Yah, I was using windows 10 and I have a LG 47" tv with a custom sim rig. The editing of the config file did work for me and then i had issues where i had to take my pc in, i also tried win11 and the config file edit didnt work now and neither does win shift arrow key. So it was a UPDATE ATS did and now it doesn't work. I hope someone can reach out and tell them, as we speak im downgrading my version to see if it works again but i do play atsmp mostly so...

Hi there, so I want to report a bug regarding American Truck Simulator and it's serious for us gamers with a secondary monitor/tv. People used to state that using the combo keys of windows+shift+arrow key left or right can change with some games which yours didn't and found editing the config.cfg and changing the line uset r_output "-1" to "1" would make it goto secondary monitor/tv and poof it worked! Since your latest update this has stopped working and to confirm my theory, in steam i went to an older version to version 1_46 and started the game and poof back to my tv! Unfortunately I play ATSMP and it needs the latest version of the game. Can you send this off to your programmers please please and have this issue resolved? It would mean a lot to me. I really appreciate your time to read this and let me know what will happen. Thanks again. I love your games.

still nothing, tried every method in this thread and didn`t work, also tried thru AMD adrenalin (I have a RX6600XT) to set the game to run in screen 2 but did not work.

only way i got the game in second screen is changing the second monitor to primary before playing the game or turning off my primary monitor lol

Its been reported to SCS, but they haven't yet acknowledged it as a bug. Hopefully it will be fixed in 1.51.

I am running the game from a laptop, and would like to play it on an external monitor. Tried to set uset r_output to 0 or 1, but doesn't work. (Game won't start if set to 2 or 3).
Using Windows + Shift + Arrow key can get the game to the external monitor. But the resolution can't be adjusted to the 2nd monitor, so it's not a solution.

I've found it best to change main display, I use the Nvidia Configuration Screen for that.
