Moving ETS 2 to a second monitor?
Hello, I have recently really gotten into the game and have gone as so far to mount a TV to my wall and hooked it up to my pc so I can play the game from bed w/ an xbox controller. Problem is, I cannot move the game window to another monitor. I tried going into windowed mode, and moving the game, but that didnt help. It just moved itself back to my primary monitor. Please help so I can enjoy myself!

Change your primary display to the TV before launching ETS 2.

Alrighty, I gave it a go and it works of course. Thank you very much. It just seems annoying I will have to set my actual monitor as my primary every time I'm done playing. The fruits of labor, I suppose.

I did some googling, and apparently using Steam in Big Picture mode there is a setting for selecting which display a game launches on. I don't have a second display here though so I can't test it.

In Big Picture Mode go to Settings > Display > Resolution > Target Monitor

So for anyone who still need a resolution:
Go to your ETS 2 Folder in Documents. Search for the "config.cfg" and open it with editor. Go all the way down until you find "uset r_output" the number behind should stand for your device, default it´s -1. Change the number to 1 (or 2 or 3, depends on how many screen you have). Save the file and start the game. It should be on a different screen.

This didn't work for me at all

Then maybe explain a bit more about your setup, what are your settings in the graphics driver,... so maybe someone can help, and check if the config file was actually saved and not write protected, or overwritten by the game, ..

It works for everyone else that uses it, I change it at least once a week.

It kind of did work for me. Note that what Windows defines as "monitor 1" will be "0", "monitor 2" = "1" etc. In my case "monitor 3" is a TV connected to motherboard's VGA output and not the graphics card, so the game does not start at all. It does work with a TV connected to GPU's second HDMI output though (sadly that's not the TV I want it to go to lol)

UPD.: um so apparently I'm wrong, Windows monitor numbering has nothing to do with it, seems 0, 1 and 2 correspond to HDMI1, HDMI2 and DisplayPort1 on the video card.

Thanks. This worked for me. I only had to change to "0" for mine to work.

Thanks in advance for the replies - I hope to get.
My setup is diff in that I have two RTX graphics cards installed. An RTX3050 which runs 3 monitors and most of the windows programs and an RTX4070 that I use to run my games. So I would like to play ETS2 on the 4070 which is running 2 x screens. As soon as I can get ETS2 using the 4070 - I am pretty sure the uset r_output will work.
I is currently displaying on the default monitor and I don't want to change the default as that is what makes all the other programs and background apps use the 3050. I am running Win 11.

update- whilst I am waiting for a more elegant solution. one that places the game on the monitor I want it too. I can use Windowed Borderless gaming, to tell my system where to display the game on my screen layout.
