I wouldd say the Volvo with the 750hp engine or the Scania with same.
Plan on racing?

Since they're all limited to 90KPH, the answer is "They're equally fast."

Maybe the FH16 750. But, if you change some parts like engine and gearbox probably will have a very good result.

scania with the allison gears - volvo is slower, because scania can go up to 2500 RPM

by law there is no fastest.. your using the game wrong or mistake it for a racing game.. the question would be valid for a truck racing game and there the answer would be the latest volvo race truck with 1000hp - search youtube, there are videos about it.

Year old necro of a four year old necro. BOT's few screenshots shown 165 Km/h at best.
Lothic's answer above (look at #8) sounds the most up to date yet.

Scania S/R with 730hp with the second 12 gear speed. I could get upto 190 km/h when I went downhill!
Volvo 750hp is the fastest in terms of acceleration, but the top speed isn't past 160 km/h, even the old 680 MAN TGX with second 12 gear speed can get past 165 km/h easily

Scannia streamline with the 730hp V8 engine. 6 speed box has the fastest acceleration beats the volvo hands down. got 150 mph out of it with a 30 ton load. the R and S same engine and gearbox 120mph. waiting for the new 770 hp V8 to get into the game.
the 6 speed boxes r better for the lighter loads upto 30 tons. faster acceleration and better fuel economy but over that u need the 12 speed boxes.
think its cause the streamline is a bit smaller and lighter than the others so has a better power to weight ratio. but struggles more on the heavy cargos.
its also got less sound proofing so the engine sounds a lot better. tried the V8 in the R, S and streamline. no diff in sound in the R and S but in the streamline wow it roars like a lion.

someone on you tube did a comparison with the scannia and volvo trucks pulling the same load side by side going up hill on flats and down hill and the scannia won 9 times out of 10 only time the volvo won was with a 70 ton log. that cargo isnt in the game he modded it in. but that was before the V8 came out.
he was using ETS2 in multi player mod but modified to remove traffic from the roads. in most cases the volvo puled away faster on hill starts but the scannia caught up and over took the volvo.
