Is Logitech G29 a good steering wheel?
Hi!
Is Logitech G29 a good steering wheel to play this game?
Is the keyboard still necessary? Is there a steering wheel that has all the necessary buttons for the game?

Well, I've been playing with this whell for a long time and all I can say is that it's the best wheel I've ever played with. But it's as expensive as good. And the buttons you can use for the most important functions , like Start/Stop, Blinkers, etc. There's also a good wheel, G920, but G29 is better. The Driving force shifter you can also buy, if you care about realistic. Hope I helped.

Yes, it is worth every penny. However keyboard is still required. There are not enough buttons on wheel to map most buttons. As wrote earlier, some main buttons might be mapped on wheel, which is good. However additional pad or keyboard is required.
I'm using g25 + keyboard + pad to map buttons;)

Xyzan is right.

OK. I have to buy one. I tried to play with keyboard + XBox 360, but I didn't like it. I'm not gonna play again till I buy a steering wheel.

Thanks!

It's a good entry level wheel, but what's your budget? If that's not an issue, i'd recommend a non-Logitech wheel (a G27 owner/user myself), something belt-driven like one of the Thrustmasters, maybe Fanatec. (though as a word of warning; legends say their customer services aren't the greatest)

I have g25 for almost ten years now. No problem with it. It was expensive, but it's quality is very high

I've heard that this FFB plugin for the Logitech wheels is great: https://forum.scssoft.com/viewtopic.php?f=109&t=49772
I'm going to give it a try myself.

EDIT: Eh, that looks more complicated than I really want to mess with, and the default FFB suits me just fine once I turn down the gain a touch.

My truck hasn't moved a centimeter yet.

The shifter is not working in-game. The game automatically set up everything. I can unbind keys if I want. During the set up wizard, I change gears and it shows on screen, but when I start the game it's like the shifter doesn't exist. All gears show on dashboard as neutral.

What could be wrong?[i.imgur.com]

I can't do that.
The game gives me two options: "keyboard only" or "keyboard + something".
