Fix The Save Game System
The way a game is saved in ETS2 is totally messed up. I saved a game last night and when I went to contine the game today, the World of Trucks "save" was not anything close to what I know I saved last night. I just wasted an hour loading an older version of the save and getting to where I was last night. It's obvious to me there is a major disconnect and problem with the synchorization system between World of Trucks and the save system that the ETS2 software uses on my computer. SCSI needs to get their act togethere and revamp their save game system because it's really frustrating to keep having to load an old version of the save and replay the game. At this rate, I will be spending 10 hours of real world time time just to gain 1 hour of progress in the game.

World of Trucks doesn't save your game information. The only thing being synched to them is any progress you made on an External Contract. The one and only place save game information is stored is locally on your own computer.

What Ryu said. Also, I've never had a problem with it, regardless of connection to WoT.

But i'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess you're using Win10? I've heard stories about Win10 deciding to "sync" your \documents folder to whatever online service they have. Which could definately cause a problem like this, if said service isn't available or whatnot.

(i'm still running win7 because it takes about 4 years for microsoft to sort out their new OS's.)

if you use windows 10 get rid of onedrive and disable game mode for any scs game!

OK, thank you for the information. Tried that and it worked. Good suggestion.

You got it. I do have Windows 10. Thank you for the comment.

Ok, Thank you for the comment. I take back my criticism of World of Trucks. Apparently it's a problem with Windows 10. Appreciate your feedback.

I have used Windows 10 since day of release and I have never had any of these syncing problems with OneDrive etc. Even after latest Windows update anniversary Edition or whatever it was called. My win 10 never ever crashes its stable as brick outhouse. I cant even remember how many years ago it was that I last saw a "Blue screen of death". Incidently I have been playing the Truck sims for many years and have never had saving problems be it normal saves or WOT jobs. Even without using a hard save slot , just clicking the exit button does a perfect situation save.

^ Damn, count yourself lucky because I've had nothing but issues with Windows 10, enough to dump it permanently and just stay on Windows 7...

Why you can't do it yourself? Your documents folder hold all important user made data including ETS2 profiles. It's not difficut and won't take long, also much safer than cloud.

Heh, I'm one of those where my saves for both SCS games aren't in my C drive. They're on a separate drive entirely.

I will try that, but frankly I'm afraid of screwing up the game. I can't get Promods to work correctly, so I'm not sure it can be done. Maybe there is a Youtube video that shows what to do.

I cannot get Promods to work correctly in the ETS2 game, so why should it be any different with your suggestion? I am not a computer literate person, but maybe there is a Youtube video that could help out. I looked in Youtube though. If you know of any, please tell me. I can't help but feel that if I have to screw around with my game folders for a game to work correctly, then maybe there is a problem with the basic game. ETS2 is a lot of fun to play though, so this is not going to stop me from playing. Thank you for the comment.

That's good. By the way, when I posted the comment, I had screenshots of what the game was doing as far as loading the saves. I wasn't imaging the problem, it was real! I am only reiterating what other comments said in regards to my posting. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy playing ETS2. Thanks for the feedback.

Hello,

I am having the same problem with ETS2, I have disabled one drive even deleted the folder of ETS2 in one drive but the problem still remains. What do you think the problem might be?
